Kumari Selja calls for stronger Congress organisation and better civic facilities in Kalka-Pinjore

Congress workers are urged to stay connected with residents and raise local concerns, while roads and drinking water supply emerge as key civic issues in the Kalka-Pinjore area

Focus on Grassroots Organisation

Sirsa MP, former Union minister, Congress general secretary and CWC member Kumari Selja called upon Congress workers to remain united and work with commitment to strengthen the party organisation at the grassroots level. She urged workers to stay connected with people, listen to their concerns and raise public issues before the appropriate forums.

Selja was addressing a block-level Congress workers’ conference held at K Farm in Pinjore in the Kalka Assembly constituency on Saturday. The conference was presided over by former Kalka MLA Pradeep Chaudhary. Congress office-bearers and workers welcomed Selja at the venue.

Selja said active and dedicated workers are the real strength of any organisation. She asked party workers to maintain regular contact with residents and understand the problems being faced by people in their respective areas.

She called for more meetings at the block and booth levels and urged workers to communicate directly with the public. Their responsibility, she said, should include taking people’s concerns to the party organisation as well as the concerned authorities for appropriate action.

Selja also called upon workers to work with determination under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and contribute actively to strengthening the organisation.

Roads, Drinking Water Need Attention

Referring to issues in the Kalka-Pinjore area, Selja said the condition of roads needs improvement at several places. Poor road conditions, she said, are causing inconvenience to residents and affecting everyday movement.

She said roads are an important part of basic infrastructure and require timely repairs and regular maintenance. Development plans, she added, should address the actual requirements of residents and their benefits should be visible on the ground.

Selja also raised concerns over drinking water supply in parts of the area. She said residents in some locations face difficulties because water is not supplied regularly, forcing people to wait for long periods.

She said people should not have to struggle for basic drinking water facilities and called for concrete measures to ensure regular and adequate supply. Given the sizeable population of the Kalka-Pinjore area, she said roads, drinking water and other civic facilities should be developed according to local requirements.

Workers Discuss Organisation and Local Issues

The conference also included discussions on forthcoming organisational activities and issues concerning local residents. Selja urged workers to remain accessible to people and ensure that public concerns are raised through the appropriate channels.

She said strengthening the organisation requires responsibility, dedication and continuous engagement with the public.

The conference was attended by former MLA Pradeep Chaudhary, Panchkula MLA Chander Mohan, Pradesh Congress Committee delegate Ajay Singla, Kalka Block Congress president Sunil Sham, district president Sanjay, Ashwani Nagra, SP Arora, Vijay Bansal, Zila Parishad chairman Sunil Sharma, Naresh Mann, Gurbhag Singh Dhamala, Raghuvir Sodhi and Santosh Sharma, besides a large number of Congress office-bearers and workers.
