Congress Minority Chairman Rana says Independence Day is a reminder of citizens’ responsibility to protect national unity, brotherhood and the country’s democratic values

Congress Minority Chairman and Numberdar Rana As Mohammad Mandoli celebrated Independence Day with villagers by hoisting the national flag at his residence and calling upon people to strengthen the bonds of unity, brotherhood and communal harmony. The celebration was marked by patriotic enthusiasm, the respectful singing of the national anthem and a pledge to uphold the dignity of the Tricolour.

Rana As Mohammad Mandoli has been organising Independence Day celebrations with local residents for several decades. According to him, his participation in the national festival has also extended to different public places and Islamic madrasas, where he has regularly joined people in hoisting the national flag and spreading the message of national unity.

During the programme at his residence, the Tricolour was hoisted in the presence of villagers. Those attending the event stood in respect and saluted the national flag as the national anthem was sung. Addressing the gathering, Rana As Mohammad Mandoli said the national flag is a symbol of India’s unity, integrity, honour and pride. He said the Tricolour represents the sacrifices and aspirations of generations of Indians and reminds citizens of the responsibility they carry towards the country.

He said Independence Day is an occasion to remember the freedom fighters and national heroes who made immense sacrifices during the struggle for India’s independence. Their courage, determination and commitment, he said, should continue to inspire every generation.

Rana As Mohammad urged people to move forward with a spirit of love, mutual respect, sacrifice and sincere commitment towards the nation. He said India’s strength lies in its unity and that citizens belonging to different communities and sections of society must work together for the country’s progress.

He emphasised that national development cannot be achieved without social harmony. According to him, differences of opinion may exist in society, but people should always remain united on issues concerning the nation’s welfare and collective interest.

“Independence Day is not merely a national celebration; it is also an opportunity for every citizen to remember his or her responsibilities towards the country,” he said.

He appealed to people to rise above personal differences and give priority to national interest. He said society can progress only when people respect one another and work collectively to create an atmosphere of peace, brotherhood and mutual trust.

Mandoli also stressed the importance of maintaining harmony among different communities. He said the diversity of India is one of its greatest strengths and that citizens should work together to ensure that differences do not become a reason for division.

He said the message of Independence Day should extend beyond the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag. The occasion, he said, should inspire people to become more responsible citizens and contribute towards the welfare of society.

The celebration also included distribution of laddoos and Tricolour flags among villagers on behalf of Rana As Mohammad Mandoli. The distribution added to the festive atmosphere and encouraged people to participate collectively in the Independence Day celebrations.
