Yamunanagar Civic Team Removes Encroachments from Camp Market, ITI Vegetable Market
The Yamunanagar Municipal Corporation carried out an anti-encroachment drive in Camp Market and the vegetable market located opposite the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), clearing roadside obstructions and opening up public passageways. The campaign was conducted on the directions of Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mahabir Prasad, with the team led by Chief Sanitation Inspector Amit Kamboj.
During the drive, the civic team inspected the market area and removed goods and other material placed outside shops and on roadside public space. Temporary encroachments created by vegetable and fruit vendors were also cleared as officials worked to restore unobstructed movement through the market.
Roadside Goods Removed from Market Area»
Chief Sanitation Inspector Amit Kamboj, along with Sanitation Inspector Sushil Sharma and the field team, asked shopkeepers to remove articles placed beyond the permitted shop limits. Vegetable and fruit sellers were also instructed to keep their goods within designated boundaries instead of occupying roads or public spaces.
The Municipal Corporation said the action was aimed at keeping roads and public areas accessible. Encroachments in busy market areas can reduce the usable road space and create difficulties for pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and other road users, particularly during busy hours.
Officials Warn Against Repeated Encroachment»
During the inspection, civic officials explained to shopkeepers, vegetable sellers and fruit vendors that occupying roads and other public spaces can inconvenience pedestrians and vehicle drivers. They urged traders to keep their goods within the prescribed limits and cooperate with the Municipal Corporation in maintaining an orderly market environment.
Officials also advised traders to voluntarily keep public areas free from encroachment rather than wait for enforcement action. The civic body said maintaining clear roads requires continued cooperation from businesses and vendors as well as regular monitoring by the administration.
Action to Continue for Smooth Traffic»
Chief Sanitation Inspector Amit Kamboj said the Municipal Corporation would continue its anti-encroachment campaign to facilitate smooth traffic and movement across the city. He appealed to shopkeepers and street vendors to ensure that public spaces are not occupied by merchandise or temporary structures.
He further warned that if goods are again placed on roads or other public spaces after the drive, the Municipal Corporation may take enforcement action, including seizure of the material, in accordance with applicable rules.
Focus on Public Access»
The campaign covered two busy commercial locations: Camp Market and the vegetable market opposite the ITI. By removing roadside material and temporary obstructions, the civic team sought to restore access along the affected stretches and make movement easier for people visiting the markets.
The Municipal Corporation’s approach combines inspection, on-site removal and communication with traders. Officials have asked vendors to follow the prescribed limits so that commercial activity can continue without blocking roads and public spaces.

Civic Appeal to Traders»
The Municipal Corporation appealed to all traders and vendors in the affected markets to maintain the cleared spaces and avoid placing merchandise beyond the permitted area. The civic body said voluntary compliance would help prevent inconvenience to the public and reduce the need for repeated enforcement.
The drive also serves as a reminder that roads and public spaces are shared civic assets. Keeping them free of unauthorised obstructions can support safer pedestrian movement and smoother vehicle flow in busy market areas.
