Yamunanagar Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, IPS, has directed district police officials to put in place comprehensive security arrangements for the peaceful, safe and harmonious celebration of Janmashtami across the district. With large gatherings expected at temples, religious places, markets and other crowded areas, the SP has instructed all police officers and station house officers to maintain heightened vigilance and ensure that devotees face no inconvenience.
According to the police spokesperson, SP Kamaldeep Goyal has issued clear directions to strengthen security at prominent religious places and other sensitive locations during the festival. Adequate police personnel will be deployed to manage crowds, maintain law and order and respond promptly to any situation that could affect public safety.
The Superintendent of Police said Janmashtami is a festival of faith, devotion and brotherhood and that every resident should be able to celebrate it in a peaceful and secure atmosphere. He directed officers to remain alert throughout the festival and ensure effective coordination among police teams deployed at different locations.
Additional police force will be stationed at major temples and religious places where large numbers of devotees are expected. Police personnel will closely monitor the movement of people around temple premises and keep a special watch on suspicious persons and activities.
To strengthen surveillance, the police will also deploy personnel in plain clothes at important locations. This will allow officers to maintain discreet watch over crowded areas and identify suspicious activity while ensuring that devotees can participate in religious celebrations without unnecessary disruption.
Special arrangements have also been made for the safety of women devotees. Women police personnel will be deployed at appropriate locations, particularly around crowded religious places, to provide assistance and respond to any security-related concern involving women and girls.
SP Kamaldeep Goyal has also directed officers to prepare special traffic management plans for Janmashtami. Due to the expected increase in the number of devotees visiting temples and markets, traffic diversions, designated parking arrangements and traffic-control measures will be implemented wherever required.
The police have appealed to residents to park their vehicles only at designated parking locations and follow the traffic arrangements put in place by the authorities. Motorists have been advised to cooperate with traffic police and avoid stopping vehicles at crowded or restricted locations, so that smooth movement can be maintained.
The SP has further directed police officials to take strict action against individuals who attempt to disturb the festive atmosphere. Those involved in harassment, unruly behaviour or activities that could affect public order will face appropriate legal action.
Special attention will also be given to people driving under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating substances. The police have warned that intoxicated driving can pose a serious risk to pedestrians, devotees and other motorists and will invite strict action under the law.
In addition to physical deployment, police patrolling will be intensified at major locations across the district. CCTV cameras will also be used for surveillance of important religious and public areas. Police teams will monitor footage and remain prepared to respond quickly if any suspicious activity or law-and-order issue comes to notice.
The security arrangements will cover temple premises as well as surrounding roads, markets, parking areas and other crowded locations. Police officials have been instructed to assess local requirements and deploy personnel accordingly so that security and traffic management remain effective throughout the celebrations.
SP Kamaldeep Goyal has also appealed to residents to remain responsible and alert during the festival. He urged people not to believe or circulate rumours and advised them to rely on verified information from official sources.
