Special children of Utthan Sansthan's Koshish Unit present Krishna-themed tableaux during Janmashtami celebrations in Yamunanagar
Krishna-themed tableaux presented by the Koshish Unit win praise from dignitaries, who call for greater opportunities, education and inclusion for children with disabilities

A vibrant Janmashtami celebration was organised at Utthan Sansthan, where special children associated with the Koshish Unit presented a series of beautifully crafted tableaux based on the life and stories of Lord Krishna. The colourful presentations captivated the dignitaries, parents, teachers and guests attending the programme and created an atmosphere filled with devotion, happiness and admiration for the children’s talent.
The children portrayed a wide range of characters and scenes associated with Indian spiritual and cultural traditions. Among the major attractions were Vasudeva imprisoned in a prison cell, the Ram Darbar, the Trinity represented by Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, Lakshmi and Narayan resting on the serpent Shesha, and Lord Krishna lifting Govardhan Hill with his cowherd companions.
The children also presented Krishna in his childhood form, Yashoda churning butter and several beautiful scenes depicting Radha and Krishna. The carefully prepared costumes and performances gave the tableaux an impressive appearance and drew widespread appreciation from those present.
The presentations were so expressive that the tableaux appeared to bring the traditional stories to life. The audience applauded the children and encouraged them throughout their performances. The participation of the children provided them with an important platform to demonstrate their creativity, confidence and abilities before a large gathering.
Utthan Sansthan Director Dr Anju Bajpai welcomed all the guests and conveyed her greetings to everyone on the occasion of Janmashtami. She explained that the institution regularly organises a variety of activities for children with disabilities as part of its efforts towards their overall development.
According to Dr Bajpai, such programmes provide children with opportunities to explore their abilities in different areas while also helping them develop confidence, communication skills and social participation. She emphasised the importance of creating an encouraging environment where every child gets an opportunity to learn, participate and express themselves.
Eminent educationist Dr P.K. Bajpai said the institution was working towards giving children with disabilities a new direction and helping them become self-reliant. He stressed the importance of education, guidance and continuous encouragement in enabling children to build confidence and prepare themselves for greater independence.
Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora, while addressing the gathering, praised the children for their performances and said that their innocence and freedom from worldly attachments made them deeply special. He said that those who wished to experience the presence of God could find it in the innocence of such children.
Arora described serving and supporting these children as a form of service to humanity. His remarks highlighted the need for society to recognise the inherent dignity and potential of children with disabilities and to provide them with opportunities to participate fully in social and cultural life.
BJP state general secretary Madan Chauhan also appreciated the performances and said children with disabilities can excel in different fields when they receive adequate opportunities and the right environment. He called upon members of society to contribute towards their overall development so that they can become an active part of the mainstream.
Mayor Suman Bahmani praised all the participating children and said she considered it a fortunate and memorable occasion to celebrate the festival with them. She emphasised that society must remain committed to ensuring proper upbringing, education and care for children with disabilities.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Sumitra Kadiyan said programmes of this nature help bring out the hidden talent of children with disabilities. She observed that participation in cultural activities can significantly improve their confidence while also strengthening their involvement in society.
District BJP president Rajesh Sapra said disability should never be regarded as a barrier to acquiring knowledge or achieving excellence. He noted that persons with disabilities often demonstrate exceptional qualities and abilities and deserve encouragement and opportunities to develop their potential.
The event brought together representatives of different organisations, social workers and members of the community. Teachers and students of Lord Krishna College also participated in the programme and extended their support to the children. Their presence added to the spirit of inclusion and collective participation.
Parents of the participating children were also present during the celebration. Their presence and encouragement proved particularly significant for the young performers.
