My Bharat Yamunanagar has urged young people across the district to participate actively in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD), an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The national platform aims to provide young Indians with an opportunity to present their ideas, perspectives, knowledge and leadership abilities and contribute to the vision of building a developed India by 2047.
My Bharat Yamunanagar Deputy Director Omkar Swami appealed to maximum eligible youth in the district to take part in the programme and make sincere efforts to perform well at every stage. He said VBYLD offers young people an important opportunity to take their ideas beyond the local level and present their vision for the country’s future on a wider platform.
Explaining the structure of the initiative, Omkar Swami said participants are given opportunities to demonstrate their abilities through a series of stages. The journey begins with an online quiz in which young participants are required to demonstrate their knowledge of subjects connected with Viksit Bharat and nation-building.
The online quiz serves as the initial stage of the selection process. Participants who perform well and are selected through the prescribed process get an opportunity to move forward to subsequent stages. The next stage provides participants with a platform to develop their ideas further through essay writing and present their perspectives in a more detailed manner.
Swami explained that, as part of the predetermined VBYLD process, selected participants can move from the essay challenge to a presentation or vision deck stage. At this stage, participants are expected to present their ideas on a subject of their choice related to Viksit Bharat.
The state-level stage provides an opportunity for young people to demonstrate much more than their knowledge. Participants are required to communicate their ideas effectively and present their vision for India’s future. Their performance can reflect their thinking ability, leadership qualities, communication skills and understanding of the challenges and opportunities involved in building a developed India.
According to Swami, the progression from one stage to another allows participants to gradually develop and demonstrate different abilities. Beginning with knowledge-based assessment, the process moves towards written expression and eventually to the presentation of ideas before a wider audience.
He emphasised that VBYLD should not be viewed merely as a platform for answering questions. Rather, it provides young people with an opportunity to take their ideas to a national platform. Those who progress beyond the initial stage can get opportunities to express their thoughts in writing, present their vision before experts and participate in higher levels of competition.
The initiative is designed to encourage young people to think about the future of India and develop constructive ideas relating to national development. It also provides a structured platform through which participants can strengthen their confidence and leadership abilities while engaging with themes associated with nation-building.
Swami said that previous editions of VBYLD had provided young participants who reached the national level with opportunities to connect with prominent national leadership platforms and present their ideas at a wider level. Such opportunities, he said, can help young people gain valuable exposure and understand how their ideas can contribute to broader national discussions.
My Bharat Yamunanagar has also appealed to schools, colleges, universities, National Service Scheme units, National Cadet Corps units, youth clubs and other youth organisations across the district to encourage eligible young people to participate in VBYLD.
The initiative is open to eligible youth in the 15 to 29 age group, and educational institutions and youth organisations have been encouraged to motivate as many eligible participants as possible to take part.
Swami urged young people to complete their registration through the My Bharat portal and participate in the VBYLD quiz within the prescribed period. He said institutions and youth organisations can play an important role by informing eligible students and young people about the programme and encouraging them to participate.
The appeal is particularly aimed at ensuring that talented young people from Yamunanagar do not miss an opportunity to present their ideas through a national-level initiative. Participation can also encourage young people to explore issues related to India’s development and think creatively about the country’s future.
For participants, the process can serve as an opportunity to move beyond conventional academic activities and engage with broader questions concerning society, development and nation-building. The emphasis on essays, presentations and vision decks also provides scope for participants to develop their ability to organise ideas and communicate them effectively.
Omkar Swami called upon the youth of Yamunanagar not to remain satisfied with merely becoming participants. He encouraged them to prepare seriously, participate with confidence and set the goal of progressing to the next stages of the dialogue.
“Yamunanagar’s youth should not stop at becoming participants but should aim to reach the next stage with full confidence and preparation,” Swami said. He described VBYLD as a national opportunity for young people to demonstrate their thinking and leadership capabilities in the context of Viksit Bharat @2047.
He expressed confidence that young people from Yamunanagar would perform strongly and establish their presence at the district, state and national levels.
The initiative also highlights the growing emphasis on youth participation in discussions concerning India’s long-term development. With a large young population, India has placed increasing importance on providing youth with platforms where they can contribute ideas and develop leadership capabilities.
