The Electoral Literacy Club of DAV College for Girls organised a voter awareness programme under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign. The programme focused on educating students about the process of filling enumeration forms and claim-objection forms related to the electoral roll.
City Magistrate (CTM) Piyush Gupta attended the programme as the Chief Guest. The event was jointly presided over by Acting Principal Dr Surinder Kaur and Electoral Literacy Club Nodal Officer Dr Shikha Saini.

Addressing the gathering, Piyush Gupta explained the objectives and significance of the Special Intensive Revision campaign. He guided students on the procedures for enrolling new voters, deleting ineligible names, correcting entries in the electoral roll and making other necessary modifications through the prescribed forms. He also elaborated on the required documents, application process and submission deadlines, urging all eligible citizens to ensure that their electoral details are accurate and updated within the stipulated timeframe.
He encouraged students to spread awareness among their family members and local communities about the importance of maintaining an accurate voter list and actively participating in the electoral process.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shikha Saini said such awareness programmes play a vital role in strengthening democratic values among young people and preparing them to become informed and responsible citizens. She emphasised that voter awareness is essential for ensuring greater participation in free and fair elections.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by coordinators Dr Amanpreet Kaur and Priya, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, the Principal, faculty members and students for making the event successful.
DDPO Narendra Singh Reviews Public Grievances at Samadhan Camp, Calls for Time-Bound Resolution

District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO) Narendra Singh directed officials to make every possible effort to resolve public grievances on the spot during the Samadhan Camp, while ensuring that complaints requiring verification or supporting documents are disposed of within a fixed timeframe.
Presiding over the grievance redressal camp held at the District Secretariat auditorium, Narendra Singh said the Haryana Government has revised the schedule of the Samadhan Camps to provide faster and more effective public service. The camps will now be organised every Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at both the district and sub-divisional levels, enabling citizens to raise issues directly before the concerned authorities.
He emphasised that complaints requiring document verification or departmental inquiry should not be delayed unnecessarily and instructed officials to ensure prompt and time-bound action in every eligible case.
During the camp, two public grievances were received. Manpreet Kaur, a resident of Yamunanagar, sought assistance regarding the sanction of her widow pension, while Rimjhim, a resident of Camp area, requested a new electricity connection. The concerned departments were directed to initiate necessary action for the early resolution of both cases.
Special members Jagdish Babbar and Khairati Lal Batra, along with officers from various government departments, were present during the grievance redressal camp.
