Yamunanagar Police Arrest Suspected Bike Thief, Trace Missing Child and Crack Down on Betting

Three separate police actions report a stolen motorcycle recovery, the safe return of a nine-year-old within three hours and arrests in betting cases across the district

Yamunanagar Police have reported three separate actions in the district involving the recovery of a suspected stolen motorcycle, the safe tracing of a missing nine-year-old child and arrests in alleged betting cases. The actions were carried out by the Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell, Farkpur police post and police teams at three different locations.

Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell Intercepts Suspected Stolen Motorcycle

According to Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell in-charge Rajesh Kumar, the team was acting on confidential information about a young man allegedly carrying a stolen motorcycle towards Uttar Pradesh through the Badi Majra bridge. A police team comprising ASI Randhir, Husn and constables Roop, Yogesh and Naresh set up a naka and began checking vehicles.

During the checking, the police said a motorcycle was intercepted and its documents appeared suspicious. Verification subsequently indicated that the motorcycle had been reported stolen. Police identified the accused as Sahil alias Sunny, son of Ravinder Kumar, a resident of the Patalpuri Chhitta Temple area.

Police said two previous theft cases involving the accused are pending before the court. The accused was produced in court and was sent to judicial custody. The police account also states that the motorcycle was stolen from outside Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar, on September 26. As that date is later than the date of this report, Pen of Democracy is retaining the date as stated in the police account rather than independently altering it.

Operation Smile Traces Nine-Year-Old Within Three Hours

In another action, Farkpur police post traced a missing nine-year-old child within about three hours of a complaint being received. The child’s father had reported that the boy had gone missing while playing near his home.

Police said the team working under ASI Irshad used a photograph of the child to circulate identifying information and made inquiries among members of the public. The search led to the child being traced safely. The child was subsequently handed back to the family.

Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal appealed to citizens to immediately contact Dial 112 if they notice a missing, confined or exploited person, particularly in cases involving women and children. The appeal underlines the importance of timely reporting and public cooperation in missing-person cases.

Three Arrested in Separate Betting Cases

Police also reported three separate arrests in alleged betting cases at Gandhinagar, Pratap Nagar and City Jagadhri. A total of ₹7,010 was reportedly recovered from the three accused.

At Gandhinagar, police arrested Kamal, son of Vishwanath Prasad, a resident of Nawab Colony, and reported recovery of ₹1,850. At Pratap Nagar, Mukesh Kumar, son of Nanak Chand of Kutipur, was arrested with ₹2,120, according to the police account. At City Jagadhri, Satish Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar and a resident of Ashok Vihar, was arrested with ₹3,040.

Police said separate cases were registered against the three accused under the applicable gambling-law provisions. The recoveries and arrests will now form part of the respective legal proceedings.

In all criminal cases, an arrest or police allegation does not by itself establish guilt. The allegations are subject to investigation and judicial process.
