Seva Setu Camp brings government schemes and public services closer to villagers in Jathlana

A Seva Sankalp Abhiyan camp at the Government Senior Secondary School in Jathlana focused on scheme awareness, online services and on-the-spot redressal of public grievances

A Seva Setu camp was organised at the Government Senior Secondary School in Jathlana village of Radaur block under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, bringing information about government welfare schemes and public services closer to residents. The programme also provided an opportunity for citizens to raise their problems and complaints before officials, with efforts made to address issues at the camp itself.

Former Yamunanagar mayor Madan Chauhan attended the programme as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he said such camps are intended to make government schemes and services more accessible to the public and to guide eligible beneficiaries through the process of obtaining the benefits for which they qualify.

Officials Explain Schemes, Eligibility and Application Process

Representatives of different departments participated in the camp and explained the welfare schemes, facilities and online services available through their respective departments. Officials also informed residents about the documents required for different schemes, eligibility conditions and the procedures for submitting applications.

The emphasis on direct guidance was intended to help eligible citizens understand which schemes may be relevant to them and how they can complete the required formalities. Residents were encouraged to make use of government services available through online platforms, which can reduce the need for repeated visits to government offices when applications and other services are available digitally.

The camp also provided a common platform for citizens to put forward local concerns and seek assistance from officials. The presence of personnel from different departments enabled residents to receive information related to more than one public service at a single venue.

Nutrition Campaign Includes God Bharai Ceremony

A special activity under the Poshan Abhiyan was also organised during the programme. A God Bharai ceremony was held as part of the nutrition campaign, drawing attention to maternal and child health and the importance of adequate nutrition.

Women and families were informed about health and nutrition-related issues as well as government programmes designed to support nutrition and the well-being of women and children. The activity added a community-focused dimension to the service camp, linking access to public services with awareness about health and nutrition.

The programme highlighted the role of outreach camps in taking information to villages rather than limiting access to welfare information to conventional government offices. Such initiatives can also help citizens understand the documents and procedures required before applying for a scheme, reducing avoidable delays caused by incomplete applications.

Officials and Staff Participate in the Camp

Among those present were Radaur Block Development and Panchayat Officer Simran, Radaur Child Development Project Officer Talwinder Kaur, Vyasarpur CDPO Kiran Bala, supervisors Vandana, Neeti Meena, Laltesh, Vimlesh, Ritu and Shivani, besides officials and employees from various departments.

The participation of officials from multiple departments allowed residents to seek information and assistance across a range of government services at the same programme. The organisers also used the occasion to encourage citizens to remain informed about schemes for which they may be eligible and to use available digital service channels.

Service Camps as a Direct Link with Citizens

The Jathlana camp forms part of the wider Seva Sankalp Abhiyan approach of taking public services and government-scheme information closer to communities. Deputy Commissioner Preeti will hear villagers’ grievances at the September 21 programme and direct concerned departments to take necessary action

A Janata Darbar and night-stay programme will be organised at Fatehgarh Tumbi village in Vyasarpur block on Monday, September 21, under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The programme is scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm and will provide villagers an opportunity to place their local problems and grievances directly before the district administration.

Deputy Commissioner Preeti will listen to the issues raised by residents and issue necessary directions to the concerned officials for their resolution. Officials from different departments will also be present, allowing residents to seek information and assistance regarding government services and welfare schemes at the same venue.

Welfare Schemes and Services to Be Explained

During the programme, various departments will provide information about government welfare schemes and services, including details of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and the process through which eligible residents can apply for benefits under relevant programmes.

Officials will guide eligible citizens about the procedures involved in obtaining scheme benefits, including relevant formalities and the department responsible for a particular service or application. The outreach is intended to make government services easier to access at the village level.

Public Grievances to Be Taken Up

The Janata Darbar will focus on problems raised by villagers. The Deputy Commissioner will hear the grievances and direct the relevant departments to take necessary action.
