Stolen Household Goods Recovered in Bilaspur Case
Yamunanagar police have arrested a man in connection with the alleged theft of household articles from a locked ancestral house in Bilaspur and recovered the stolen property, according to a police spokesperson. The accused was subsequently produced before a court and sent to judicial custody, police said.
The police said the action was carried out by a team of the Special Cell-cum-Anti-Narcotic Cell-2 under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal. The arrested man has been identified as Deepak, son of Sumer Chand, a resident of Deha Basti. Police said the investigation indicated that he allegedly committed the theft with the help of another person, whose identity has also been established.
Complaint After Neighbours Reported Broken Lock
According to police, the case came to light after Raman Garg, a resident of Faridabad, was informed by neighbours that the lock of his ancestral house in Bilaspur had been broken. Garg reached the property and found that the lock had been damaged and household articles kept inside the house were missing.
The complainant told police that brass utensils, an inverter and other articles had allegedly been taken away by an unidentified person or persons. On the basis of his complaint, a case was registered at the concerned police station and efforts were initiated to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.
Team Forms After Registration of Case
Police said a team was constituted to trace the accused after the complaint was registered. The team worked on available information and followed up on leads generated during the investigation. Acting on a tip-off, the police team arrested Deepak, who was subsequently questioned in connection with the case.
During questioning, police said, Deepak disclosed that he had allegedly carried out the theft along with another associate. The police then recovered the stolen household articles from the accused, according to the statement issued by the department.
Second Suspect Identified, Police Say
The police have also said that another person allegedly involved in the incident has been identified. The investigating team is expected to take further action in accordance with law, while efforts are under way to arrest the second suspect, the police in-charge said.
Police said the recovery of the allegedly stolen property forms an important part of the investigation. The arrested accused has already been produced before the court and sent to judicial custody. Further investigation will determine the complete circumstances of the alleged break-in and the role of each person suspected of involvement.
