Yamunanagar Police Arrests Bike Theft Suspect with Stolen Motorcycle; 8 Bottles of Illicit Liquor Seized in Separate Action

Yamunanagar police have arrested a man in connection with a three-year-old motorcycle theft case and recovered the stolen bike. In a separate action, Pratap Nagar police arrested another man with eight bottles of illicit country liquor.
According to the police spokesperson, the actions were carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal as district police teams continued action against vehicle theft and the illegal liquor trade.
Bike Theft Suspect Arrested During Police Check
Police spokesperson said a Crime Branch-1 team received secret information that a youth would pass near the Paper Mill Gate in the Industries Area on a stolen motorcycle and was allegedly planning to take it to Uttar Pradesh for sale.
Acting on the information, a team comprising Head Constables Praveen, Sushil and Kuldeep was formed under the supervision of Crime Branch-1 in-charge Raj Kumar. The team set up a checkpoint and stopped a young man riding a motorcycle.
Police checked the motorcycle and found that it had been reported stolen. During questioning, the accused was identified as Harpreet alias Honey, a resident of Azad Nagar, Yamunanagar. Police registered a case against him and recovered the motorcycle.
Three-Year-Old Motorcycle Theft Case Traced
Police said the recovered motorcycle was linked to a complaint filed three years ago on February 14 by Jagannath Yadav, a resident of Raipur Colony. Yadav had told police that he went to a factory on Raipur Road and discovered that his motorcycle had been stolen when he came out of the premises.
A case was registered at Sadar Yamunanagar police station. The latest arrest has helped police trace the theft case, while further investigation is continuing.
Police also said that two other criminal cases are already registered against the accused and are pending before the court. The accused was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.
Illegal Liquor Seized in Pratap Nagar, One Arrested
In a separate action, Pratap Nagar police arrested a man and recovered eight bottles of illicit country liquor from his possession. The action followed directions issued by Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal to take strict action against the illegal liquor trade in the district.
Station House Officer Rohtash said a police team led by Head Constable Nirmal Singh stopped and checked a person who was allegedly carrying the illicit liquor. Police recovered eight bottles from him during the action.
The accused was identified as Manoj Kumar, son of Brahmpal, a resident of Bahadurpur village. Police registered a case against him under the Excise Act and initiated further proceedings.
Police Continue Action Against Crime and Illegal Liquor
The two actions reflect the district police’s continuing enforcement work against vehicle theft and the illegal sale or possession of liquor. Police said teams are acting on information received through field sources and are conducting checks at locations identified as relevant to such activities.
In the motorcycle theft case, the investigation will focus on the circumstances surrounding the theft and the alleged disposal of the stolen vehicle. In the liquor case, police will proceed under the applicable provisions of the Excise Act.
The accused in both cases will face further proceedings according to law. Police said investigations in the respective cases are continuing.
