Yamunanagar administration announces key public grievance and legal-service programmes as September hearings and December National Lok Adalat preparations move ahead

Deputy Commissioner Preeti will chair the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee meeting on September 25, while a public hearing and night-stay programme will be held at Fatehgarh Tumbi on September 21. The district administration is also preparing for the fourth National Lok Adalat scheduled for December 12, 2026.
District Grievance Committee Meeting on September 25
Deputy Commissioner Preeti said the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee will be held at 12 noon on September 25, 2026, at the auditorium of Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri. Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij will chair the meeting. All district heads of departments and non-government members of the committee have been directed to attend at the scheduled date and time.
Public Hearing and Night Stay at Fatehgarh Tumbi
City Magistrate Piyush Gupta said that, under the directions of the Haryana Government and Deputy Commissioner Preeti, the district administration will organise a Janata Darbar and night-stay programme on September 21 at Government Senior Secondary School in Fatehgarh Tumbi village of Vyaspur block and sub-division.
The Janata Darbar will begin at 2 pm, followed by the hearing and resolution of public grievances from 4:30 pm under the chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner Preeti. Senior administrative officers will remain present during the night stay and interact directly with villagers.
The administration will hear both public and individual grievances and take action through the concerned departments. Gupta said the programme is being conducted as part of the district administration’s continuing public outreach efforts, alongside solution camps, in accordance with directions issued by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
All department heads have been directed to reach the programme venue at the prescribed time and place. Officials have also been instructed not to send junior officers or employees in their place without prior permission and to comply strictly with the administrative directions.
Fourth National Lok Adalat Scheduled for December 12
The District Legal Services Authority, Yamunanagar, will organise the fourth National Lok Adalat of 2026 on December 12. Eligible pending matters will be considered for settlement through mutual agreement and consent, allowing parties to seek resolution through the Lok Adalat mechanism.
District Legal Services Authority Secretary and Chief Judicial Magistrate Sumitra Kadian said cases to be taken up will include compoundable criminal offences, matters under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, bank recovery cases, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal matters and matrimonial disputes.
Other categories include labour disputes, land acquisition matters and pending electricity and water bill cases. Service matters relating to salary, allowances and revision benefits, along with revenue matters, will also be considered, subject to applicable legal provisions.
Other civil matters, including rent disputes, easementary rights and injunction cases, may also be settled through mutual consent. Non-compoundable theft cases will not be included in the Lok Adalat.
Preparatory Meeting to Be Held on September 22
Sumitra Kadian said a preparatory meeting for the fourth National Lok Adalat will be held at 11:45 am on September 22, 2026. The meeting will review pending and pre-litigation matters and identify cases that may be suitable for settlement through mutual consent and conciliation at the National Lok Adalat.
The stated objective is to identify more eligible matters and ensure timely action so that suitable cases can be resolved through a settlement-oriented process rather than prolonged litigation, where legally permissible.
