Maharaja Agrasen College celebrates Teachers’ Day with students expressing gratitude through cake-cutting and floral tributes

A teacher plays not only the role of an educator but also that of a parent and guardian by providing students with guidance and support at different stages of their lives, said Maharaja Agrasen College Principal Dr Karuna while addressing teachers and students during Teachers’ Day celebrations organised by the Commerce and Management, Arts and Computer departments of the college.
Dr Karuna said teachers have a responsibility that extends beyond classroom teaching. They help students understand academic concepts while also guiding them in making responsible choices and developing the values needed to lead a meaningful life. She said all faculty members of the college remain available to students for personal as well as academic guidance whenever required.
The Principal urged students to follow the right path and make responsible choices in their personal and professional lives. She emphasised that while students should work towards achieving their individual goals, they should also remain conscious of their responsibilities towards society and give due importance to the larger public interest.
Teachers’ Day is celebrated at the college as an occasion to recognise and appreciate the contribution of teachers who work consistently for the academic and personal growth of students. The celebrations provide students with an opportunity to express their gratitude towards the teachers who guide and support them throughout their educational journey.
During the programme, students expressed their appreciation for their teachers by presenting bouquets and participating in a cake-cutting ceremony. The celebrations created an atmosphere of warmth and mutual appreciation as students acknowledged the efforts of their teachers.
Faculty members also shared their experiences with the students and spoke about the importance of maintaining a positive relationship between teachers and learners. They encouraged students to remain committed to their studies, respect their teachers and continue working towards their goals with sincerity and discipline.
The students assured their teachers of their continued support and expressed their appreciation for the guidance and encouragement they receive from the faculty. The interaction between teachers and students highlighted the importance of mutual respect and cooperation in creating a positive educational environment.
Commerce Department Head Dr Seema Gupta expressed gratitude to all those who participated in the programme. She said events of this nature provide students with valuable opportunities to develop coordination, organisational skills and a sense of teamwork.
Dr Gupta said such programmes also help students understand the importance of working collectively towards a common objective. Apart from celebrating the contribution of teachers, she said, these activities contribute to the overall personality development of students by encouraging participation, cooperation and group spirit.
The Teachers’ Day programme brought together faculty members from different departments of the college. From the Commerce and Management departments, Dr Anita, Dr M.L. Singla, Dr Vijay Chawla, Dr Rakhi, Professor Anil Kumar, Professor Gaurav Bareja, Dr Veera Rani, Professor Heena, Professor Sheetal and Professor Garima were among those present.
Representing the Arts department, Dr V.S. Dhillon, Professor Poonam Garg, Professor Hemraj, Professor Seema Jain, Professor Abhishek, Professor Rahul, Professor Neeraj, Professor Sapna and Dr Usha Devi attended the celebrations.
Computer Department Head Professor Randeep was also present along with Professor Shalu, Professor Ramanpreet and Professor Manju.
The participation of faculty members from different departments reflected the collective spirit of the college in celebrating Teachers’ Day and recognising the contribution of educators. The programme also provided students with an opportunity to interact with their teachers outside the formal classroom setting.
Dr Karuna said teachers remain an important source of guidance for students as they move through different stages of their academic journey. She encouraged students to make full use of the guidance available to them and to maintain a balanced approach towards personal ambitions and social responsibilities.
The Principal’s message focused on the broader role of education in shaping responsible individuals. She said academic success should be accompanied by good conduct, a sense of responsibility and concern for the welfare of others.
The Teachers’ Day celebrations concluded with an expression of gratitude from students and faculty members. The programme reinforced the importance of the teacher-student relationship and highlighted the role of educational institutions in nurturing students not only academically but also socially and personally.
