Students portray Jyotiba Phule, Rani of Jhansi, Mirabai and Rao Tula Ram through character presentations, poetry, dance and a patriotic play
Sant Nischal Singh College of Education for Women, Santpura, organised a special programme to mark Haryana Veer Evam Shaheedi Diwas, with students presenting a character carnival, theatrical performance, patriotic poetry and dance to highlight the lives, courage and contributions of distinguished personalities and brave figures.
The programme was organised under the direction of Officiating Principal Jaspreet Kaur. Through a series of creative presentations, students sought to connect historical personalities and the sacrifices of brave figures with the values of patriotism, courage and social responsibility.
Students bring historical personalities to life
The programme began with a character carnival in which students appeared in the roles of several distinguished personalities, including Jyotiba Phule, Rani of Jhansi, Mirabai and Durgavati Devi.
Through costumes, dialogues and character portrayals, the students presented different aspects of the lives and contributions of these personalities. The character carnival provided an engaging platform for students to explore history through creative expression while presenting important messages associated with courage, social reform, devotion and resistance.
Patriotic dance and poetry add emotion to programme
The character presentations were followed by patriotic performances. Student Kanika presented a dance on a patriotic song, while student Roshni recited a patriotic poem.
The performances created an atmosphere of national pride and gave students an opportunity to express their feelings towards the country through music, dance and poetry. The variety of presentations also encouraged students to participate in different aspects of the programme, including performance, stage coordination and public presentation.
Play on Rao Tula Ram becomes major attraction
The central attraction of the programme was a play based on the life, struggle and bravery of Rao Tula Ram, the celebrated warrior associated with Rewari and Haryana’s history.
Students performed different characters in the play and presented dialogues depicting the challenges and courage associated with Rao Tula Ram’s struggle. Their live acting and stage presentation were appreciated during the programme and helped create an atmosphere of patriotism among the audience.
The theatrical presentation gave students an opportunity to engage with Haryana’s historical legacy through performance. It also highlighted the values of courage, determination and sacrifice associated with the life of the historical figure portrayed in the play.
Principal encourages students to learn from great personalities
Officiating Principal Jaspreet Kaur appreciated the efforts of the participating students and encouraged them to continue taking part in educational and cultural activities.
She urged students to draw inspiration from the lives of great warriors and martyrs and to develop a spirit of patriotism and courage in their own lives. She also encouraged them to remember the sacrifices and struggles of great personalities and apply the values associated with them in everyday life.
Students and faculty contribute to successful event
The programme involved students and faculty members in different responsibilities. Student Muskan conducted the stage proceedings, while Rekha Sharma and Ishu handled the direction of the theatrical presentation and overall programme coordination.
The involvement of students in anchoring and performance provided them with practical exposure to public speaking, teamwork and cultural coordination. Such activities also create opportunities for students to develop confidence and communication skills.

Certificates presented to winners
At the conclusion of the programme, certificates were presented to the winning students in recognition of their performances. The recognition encouraged participants and acknowledged their efforts in preparing for the various presentations.
The programme concluded with the singing of the national anthem, bringing together the themes of historical remembrance, cultural expression and patriotism.
The event provided students with a platform to remember notable personalities while demonstrating their own creativity and communication skills. Through character portrayal, theatre, poetry and dance, the college marked Haryana Veer Evam Shaheedi Diwas with a programme focused on courage, patriotism and respect for the sacrifices remembered on the occasion.
