Students undergo assessment of physical fitness, discipline and leadership skills during enrolment process

Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri, conducted the enrolment and selection process for new cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), with students participating enthusiastically in the selection drive. The process was aimed at identifying students who demonstrated the required physical fitness, discipline, leadership qualities and other prescribed competencies for joining the NCC unit.
During the selection process, participating students were assessed on various parameters, including physical efficiency, discipline and leadership ability. The selection was carried out on the basis of the prescribed criteria to identify candidates capable of undertaking NCC training and meeting the responsibilities associated with being a cadet.
The college administration said the participation of students reflected their interest in NCC activities and the opportunities they provide for personal development. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to undergo structured training designed to strengthen discipline, confidence, leadership and a sense of responsibility.
College Principal Dr Karuna congratulated the newly selected cadets and said the NCC was an important platform for the overall development of students. She said NCC training helps young people develop discipline and leadership qualities while also building confidence and a stronger sense of responsibility.
Dr Karuna said participation in NCC activities encourages students to become more organised and committed in their approach towards their academic and personal responsibilities. The training also provides an environment in which students can learn teamwork, leadership and the importance of serving the nation.
She congratulated all the newly selected cadets and encouraged them to make full use of the opportunities available through NCC. She said the qualities developed during training could prove valuable not only during college life but also in the students’ future professional and social lives.
NCC Officer Captain Anil Kumar also congratulated the newly selected cadets and encouraged them to participate regularly in training programmes. He urged the cadets to remain disciplined and committed and to follow the ideals and principles of the NCC in their everyday lives.
Captain Anil Kumar said regular participation in training would help cadets strengthen their physical fitness, confidence and leadership skills. He also encouraged them to approach their responsibilities with sincerity and maintain the standards expected from NCC cadets.
The selection process provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and understand the responsibilities associated with NCC membership. Physical fitness and discipline formed important components of the assessment, along with leadership potential and other prescribed requirements.
The college administration and the NCC unit extended their best wishes to the newly selected cadets and expressed confidence that they would actively participate in future training and activities.
The NCC continues to provide students with opportunities to develop qualities such as discipline, teamwork, leadership, confidence and responsibility. At the college level, such programmes also encourage students to participate in activities beyond academics and develop a broader understanding of civic responsibility and national service.
The successful completion of the selection process marks the beginning of a new phase for the selected students, who will now be expected to participate in NCC training and related activities with commitment and discipline.
