Under the directions of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, the Yamunanagar Police have intensified a comprehensive naka checking and surveillance campaign across the district to curb criminal activities, keep a close watch on suspicious persons and vehicles, and ensure strict compliance with traffic and public safety regulations.
The campaign is being carried out as part of a broader policing strategy aimed at preventing crime and strengthening law and order. Police teams have been deployed at important locations to conduct intensive checking of vehicles and monitor suspicious movements. The district police are also maintaining increased vigilance through regular night patrolling and area-based checking.
According to the police spokesperson, all station house officers and traffic in-charges have been directed to conduct regular inspections in their respective jurisdictions and take strict action against those found violating the law. The checking drive is focusing particularly on vehicles without registration number plates, motorists attempting to conceal their identity by covering their faces, vehicles fitted with illegal dark films and people involved in activities that could disturb public peace.
SP Kamaldeep Goyal said vehicles without number plates can create serious challenges for law enforcement agencies, particularly when such vehicles are used by criminals to conceal their identity or evade detection after committing an offence. He said proper identification of vehicles is essential for effective policing and public safety.
The Superintendent of Police also stressed that following traffic rules is not merely a legal requirement but an important responsibility towards society. Violations of traffic regulations can increase the risk of road accidents and, in certain cases, provide opportunities for criminal and anti-social elements to operate without easy identification.
As part of the ongoing campaign, Yamunanagar Police are also taking action against people found consuming or serving alcohol illegally in public places. Police officials said public drinking can sometimes lead to disputes, fights and other disturbances, affecting the overall law-and-order situation.
The district police have therefore instructed field officers to remain alert and take prompt action wherever violations of law are reported or detected during checking and patrolling. Police teams are maintaining surveillance over sensitive locations and other areas where criminal or anti-social activities are suspected.
Under the leadership of SP Kamaldeep Goyal, night patrolling has also been strengthened across different parts of the district. The objective is to ensure a visible police presence, discourage criminal activities and enable police teams to respond quickly to any suspicious movement or incident.
