Shivaji Press Club (Registered) organised a large-scale plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Stadium in Chhachhrauli, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation and community service. The programme, held amid light showers, brought together senior government officials, elected representatives, social workers and members of the press to promote the message of a greener and more sustainable future.

The plantation drive was inaugurated by Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman Mukesh Garg, along with SDM Chhachhrauli Jaspal Singh Gill, Pratap Nagar Panchayat Samiti representative Virender Chaudhary, social worker Tilak Raj Dhiman, BDPO Kartik Chauhan, Forest Range Officer Baljeet Singh and members of Shivaji Press Club. Chhachhrauli Sarpanch Reeta Saini, Sports Club President and Sarpanch Sanjeev Saini ‘Bittu’, and coach Ramanjit Singh also participated by planting saplings and encouraging environmental awareness.

Speaking on the occasion, Mukesh Garg praised Shivaji Press Club for extending its role beyond journalism and actively participating in social causes. He appreciated the club’s recent blood donation camp and described the plantation initiative as another meaningful contribution towards society and environmental protection.

SDM Jaspal Singh Gill said social organisations should actively participate in public welfare initiatives and appreciated the club for consistently taking up activities that benefit the community. He noted that environmental conservation requires collective efforts and sustained public participation.

Shivaji Press Club President Ravinder Chauhan said the plantation programme was the club’s second major social initiative after the successful blood donation camp. He announced that the next plantation drive would be organised in Bilaspur in the presence of SDM Kuldeep Singh. Similar campaigns are also planned in Sadhaura, Saraswati Nagar, Radaur, Pratap Nagar and Jagadhri to expand the movement across the district.

He further informed that the club would soon organise a free medical camp as part of its ongoing social service initiatives, with the schedule to be announced shortly.

Several club members and social workers actively participated in the programme, including patron Raghubir Singh Rana, Rajendra Kumar, Ramkishan Kashyap, Sukhwinder Kashyap, Savita, Ravikant, Ravi Kumar, Nitin Singla, Ali Jan, Raunak, Rudra Pratap Singh, Dinesh Kumar and Ravinder Kamboj.
