Sirsa MP Selja calls for Education Minister’s dismissal, seeks Parliament debate on examination reforms and recruitment transparency

Backing nationwide student protests over alleged paper leaks and irregularities in the education system, Congress MP from Sirsa Kumari Selja accused the Centre of failing to protect the interests of young aspirants and demanded the dismissal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Echoing the Congress party’s stand under the leadership of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Selja said students had taken to the streets of Delhi seeking justice, transparent recruitment and a credible examination system, but were met with police action instead of a meaningful response.
“The voices of students cannot be silenced through force. Young people are demanding fairness, transparency and accountability, and their concerns deserve to be heard,” she said.
The former Union Minister alleged that the government had failed to address recurring controversies surrounding recruitment examinations and paper leaks. She called for a comprehensive debate in Parliament on the country’s education system, recruitment process and examination reforms to restore public confidence and prevent future irregularities.
Selja also criticised the government’s handling of Parliament, alleging that it was avoiding discussions on key public issues, including paper leaks, inflation, unemployment and other matters affecting citizens.
She further claimed that while students were facing action during their protests in Delhi, farmers were once again being prevented from exercising their democratic right to protest at the national capital’s borders.
Reiterating the Congress party’s commitment, Selja said the Opposition would continue raising the concerns of students, youth, farmers and ordinary citizens both inside and outside Parliament.

In a separate statement, Selja said the season’s first spell of rain had exposed the poor state of civic infrastructure in Sirsa and several other towns across Haryana.
She alleged that widespread waterlogging, damaged roads, overflowing sewer lines and inadequate drainage systems had disrupted normal life, contradicting the government’s development claims.
The Sirsa MP said she had repeatedly urged the Haryana government to improve roads, sewerage and drainage infrastructure in Sirsa, but alleged that the concerns had been ignored. She called on the government to launch immediate relief measures and implement long-term solutions to urban infrastructure problems.
