A delegation of the INTUC Federation met AICC Haryana In-Charge Sanjay Dutt at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in New Delhi and discussed a range of issues concerning workers, contract employees, industrial labourers and economically weaker sections in Haryana.

The delegation was led by INTUC Federation National President Swaminath Jaiswal and National Spokesperson Nawab Khan Azad, who highlighted concerns related to labour welfare, employment opportunities and the implementation of labour laws in the state.

During the meeting, Jaiswal said Haryana is among India’s leading industrial states, with millions of workers contributing significantly to industrial growth and the economy. However, he said many workers continue to face challenges related to fair wages, workplace safety, social security, healthcare benefits and effective enforcement of labour laws.He stressed that workers are a vital force in nation-building and said safeguarding their rights should remain a shared responsibility of both the government and society.

Nawab Khan Azad said complaints from workers across various industrial clusters continue to be received on a regular basis. He underlined the need to ensure timely payment of wages, Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), Provident Fund (PF) benefits, adequate safety equipment, secure working conditions and other statutory entitlements for workers in the unorganised sector. The delegation also discussed issues relating to employment generation, skill development for youth, safe employment opportunities for women, strict enforcement of industrial safety standards, effective implementation of labour welfare schemes and measures aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of economically weaker families.During the interaction, the INTUC leaders appreciated Sanjay Dutt’s approach towards organisational affairs, describing him as a leader who listens patiently to party workers and addresses their concerns with sensitivity. Responding to the delegation, Sanjay Dutt said the issues concerning workers, economically weaker sections and vulnerable communities were of significant importance.

He assured the delegation that the suggestions placed before him would be considered positively and reiterated that the organisation remains committed to giving priority to issues affecting the common people.
