Bike-borne attackers open fire at Hydra office in Yamunanagar, one killed and two injured in late-night shooting

Two armed youths allegedly fired at a Hydra and crane office near Kharwan Chowk; police teams are examining CCTV footage and investigating a possible rivalry angle as well as other leads
Firing Reported at Hydra and Crane Office
One person was killed and two others were injured after two bike-borne armed youths allegedly opened fire at a Hydra and crane office near Kharwan Chowk in Yamunanagar late on Friday night. The firing took place when three friends were present on the first floor of the office.
Police said the deceased was identified as 50-year-old Richhpal, a resident of Mandhar village. Kamaljeet, who sustained a gunshot injury, and Gurneel of Moosimbal village were also injured. While Richhpal and Kamaljeet were hit by bullets, Gurneel reportedly suffered injuries after falling while trying to escape from the spot.
Richhpal was taken to hospital along with the other injured persons, where doctors declared him dead. Further medical details concerning the injured are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
Attackers Allegedly Arrived on Motorcycle
According to an eyewitness account, the three men were on the first floor of the office when the two attackers arrived on a motorcycle and allegedly began firing suddenly. The assailants are also reported to have fired in the air while fleeing the area.
Employees working on the lower floor reached upstairs after hearing the gunshots and found the injured men. They informed the police, following which Jagadhri police reached the location and shifted the injured to hospital.
Police teams then began checking the surrounding routes and gathering information about the suspected attackers. A search operation was initiated as officers worked to establish how the assailants entered and left the area.
Shots Also Reported at Sarpanch’s Car
During the initial police response, another piece of information emerged from Moosimbal village. Police were informed that shots had also been fired at a car belonging to the village sarpanch.
A police team reached the village and began collecting information about that incident. Investigators are examining whether the firing at the Hydra office and the reported shooting at the sarpanch’s vehicle are connected. No official conclusion linking the two incidents had been announced at the time of publication.
Senior Police Officers Reach Spot
Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, along with other senior police officials, reached the area after the firing. The Forensic Science Laboratory team also examined the scene and collected evidence that could assist the investigation.
Separate teams of the Criminal Investigation Agency and local police are examining CCTV footage from the area. Investigators are also trying to establish the route used by the attackers before and after the firing and identify any vehicle or movement that may help trace them.
Police Examining Rivalry and Other Leads
According to the police, a possible rivalry angle has emerged during the preliminary investigation. At the same time, investigators are examining other possibilities, including whether the incident could have involved an attempt to target a person associated with criminal activity. Police have not officially confirmed any specific motive or identified the attackers.
Officials are expected to rely on CCTV footage, forensic evidence, statements of witnesses and information gathered from the two locations to establish the sequence of events. The investigation remains ongoing, and further details are expected as the police verify the evidence and identify those responsible.
Investigation Underway
The shooting has prompted intensified efforts to trace the motorcycle-borne suspects. Police teams are checking possible escape routes and relevant CCTV recordings while questioning people who may have witnessed the incident or have information about the movements of the suspects.
