Yamunanagar Anti-Narcotics Cell Arrests Two in 50-Gram Heroin Case
Yamunanagar district police have continued their action against alleged drug trafficking, with the Anti-Narcotics Cell arresting two persons in connection with the alleged recovery of 50 grams of heroin, also described as smack. Police said the action was carried out on the directions of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal as part of the district-wide campaign against narcotic substances.
According to the police, one accused was apprehended near Muzaffat Kala village after the Anti-Narcotics Cell received confidential information that a man was allegedly moving around the area with narcotic substances and was looking for an opportunity to sell them.
A search was subsequently conducted in the presence of a Duty Magistrate, during which the police allegedly recovered 50 grams of heroin. The arrested person was identified as Islam, son of Nanak, a resident of Bangeri village.
Police Team Acts on Confidential Information»
Anti-Narcotics Cell In-charge Anil Kumar said the team received a confidential tip-off regarding a person allegedly carrying narcotic substances near Muzaffat Kala. Acting on the information, a police team was constituted to verify the input and take action in accordance with law.
The team comprised Sub-Inspector Satish, Naveen, ASI Rajendra, Pankaj, Vimal and Sultan. The police personnel reached the indicated location and began monitoring the area. During the operation, they apprehended a man who was allegedly moving around at the spot.
50 Grams of Heroin Allegedly Recovered»
The police said a Duty Magistrate was called to the spot before the search was conducted. During the search, 50 grams of heroin, described by the police as smack, was allegedly recovered from Islam’s possession.
Following the alleged recovery, the Anti-Narcotics Cell questioned Islam about the source of the substance and the circumstances in which it had allegedly come into his possession. Police said that during questioning, he disclosed that he had allegedly obtained the narcotic substance from Nazim alias Joni, son of Shakeel.
According to the police account, Nazim is also a resident of the same village. Acting on the information provided during questioning, the police team traced him and subsequently arrested him in connection with the case.
Second Accused Arrested During Follow-Up Investigation»
The arrest of the second accused has widened the scope of the investigation into the alleged source and movement of the narcotic substance. Police are now examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged transaction and whether any other persons may have been connected with the supply chain.
Both accused were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and produced before the court. According to the police, Islam was sent to judicial custody, while Nazim was taken on police remand for further investigation.

Police Cite Earlier NDPS Case Against Islam»
Anti-Narcotics Cell In-charge Anil Kumar further stated that Islam had previously faced a case under the NDPS Act. According to the police, that earlier case is currently pending before the court.
The police have cited the earlier case as part of the accused’s background. However, the earlier allegation and the present case remain subject to the legal process, and guilt in the present matter will be determined by the competent court on the basis of the evidence and proceedings.
Investigation Focuses on the Alleged Supply Chain»
With one accused in judicial custody and the other on police remand, investigators are expected to focus on the alleged source of the heroin and the circumstances surrounding its procurement and movement. Police may also examine whether the information obtained during questioning leads to any further arrests or recoveries.
The latest action is part of the Yamunanagar district police’s continuing campaign against alleged narcotics trafficking. The Anti-Narcotics Cell has been conducting intelligence-based operations aimed at identifying persons allegedly involved in the possession, distribution and supply of illegal drugs.
