Tyagi Brahmin Bhumihar Conference Concludes with Warning to Government and Administration
A conference of the Tyagi Brahmin Bhumihar community concluded at Bhagwan Parshuram Bhawan in Govindpuri, Yamunanagar, with a strong call for social unity and a warning to the government and administration against what community leaders described as the continued exploitation of Brahmins.
A large number of community members attended the gathering. People from other communities also participated, reflecting a spirit of brotherhood and social harmony.
Mangeram Tyagi, national president of the Tyagi Brahmin Bhumihar community, attended the programme as the chief guest. Distinguished guests included Rakesh Tyagi, chairman of the Market Committee, Yamunanagar; Brahmin leader Zile Singh Picholia; Pawan Sharma Pehalwan, president of Brahmin Dharamshala, Kurukshetra; Punit Tyagi, president of the Tyagi community in Haryana; Satish Gautam from Panipat; and Jai Bhagwan Sharma from Ambala.
Traditional Invocation Marks the Beginning
The programme began with Swastivachan and a traditional invocation by Pandit Rajeshwar Shastri, chief priest of Adi Badri, along with students from a gurukul. The guests formally inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The proceedings were conducted by organising committee members Virender Tyagi and Jitender Tyagi.
Addressing the gathering, Mangeram Tyagi urged members of the Brahmin community to remain united and strengthen their social bonds. He said that all Brahmins were descendants of Lord Parshuram and shared common cultural and family traditions. He emphasised that relationships within the community should be strengthened and that unity was essential to safeguarding its interests.
Mangeram Tyagi Raises Concerns Over Government Policies
Tyagi issued a strong warning to the government and administration, saying that the alleged exploitation of the Brahmin community would no longer be tolerated. He alleged that successive governments had continued policies that adversely affected Brahmins.
Referring to the University Grants Commission (UGC), he described certain proposed provisions as discriminatory and demanded that the government withdraw what he termed a “black law”. He also called for a review of the provisions of the SC/ST Act.
His remarks reflected the concerns raised by speakers at the conference regarding the community’s representation, dignity and rights. The demands and allegations were presented as the views of the speakers at the gathering.
Speakers Emphasise Collective Strength and Social Harmony
Earlier, Market Committee chairman Rakesh Tyagi and other speakers on the dais also appealed to members of the community to stand together and work towards common social objectives. They described the Brahmin community as socially prominent and said it had traditionally worked for the welfare of all sections of society.
The speakers maintained that the community had never intended harm to anyone but would not accept injustice or mistreatment directed against its members. The gathering also highlighted the importance of maintaining brotherhood and cooperation with other communities while safeguarding the dignity and interests of the Brahmin society.

At the conclusion of the programme, district president Umesh Tyagi and his team extended financial assistance for Bhagwan Parshuram Dharamshala in Muzaffarnagar, which, according to the organisers, had remained closed. Mangeram Tyagi was also honoured with a traditional parsa as a mark of respect.
