Acting under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, the Yamunanagar Police have achieved another success against vehicle theft. The district police’s Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell has arrested two real brothers in connection with motorcycle theft and recovered three stolen motorcycles from their possession.
According to the police spokesperson, the accused were arrested following a targeted operation based on secret information. After the completion of the initial investigation and legal formalities, both accused were produced before the court and subsequently sent to judicial custody.
Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell in-charge Rajesh Kumar said that the police team had received specific information that two youths would pass through the Hundewala Bridge area with a stolen motorcycle.
Acting swiftly on the information, a police team was constituted under the leadership of ASI Anil, along with Husan, Head Constable Sumit, Naresh and Yogesh. The team reached the identified location, established a checkpoint and began checking vehicles.
After some time, two youths were seen approaching on a motorcycle. The police team stopped them and verified the motorcycle. During the investigation, the motorcycle was found to have been stolen.
Police said that the motorcycle had allegedly been stolen on July 30 from the ITI Sabzi Mandi area in Gandhi Nagar.
During questioning, the accused were identified as Harpreet Singh and Sarabjit Singh, sons of Narendra Singh and residents of Arjun Nagar, Jagadhri. Police stated that the two accused are real brothers.
Further interrogation allegedly led to information about two more motorcycle thefts. According to the police, the accused had also stolen two additional motorcycles from the ITI Sabzi Mandi area on August 15.
Following the investigation and recovery operation, the Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell recovered a total of three stolen motorcycles from the accused.
Police officials said that the investigation is continuing to determine whether the accused may be connected with other incidents of vehicle theft or whether additional stolen vehicles or accomplices are involved.
The action forms part of the Yamunanagar Police’s continued campaign against vehicle theft and other criminal activities. Under the guidance of SP Kamaldeep Goyal, specialised police teams are acting on intelligence inputs and conducting focused operations against individuals involved in criminal activities.
The police have appealed to vehicle owners to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect their vehicles, including using secure parking facilities and appropriate anti-theft measures.
Both accused were produced before the court after their arrest and were sent to judicial custody. Further investigation into the case is underway.
