Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena urges citizens to visit exhibitions being organised under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena said the Tricolour is a symbol of India’s identity, honour, self-respect and collective resolve. He said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign launched by the Central and state governments has now evolved into a people’s movement, with the national flag becoming an integral part of every household and citizen.
To encourage greater public participation, the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department is organising Har Ghar Tiranga exhibitions at the Mini Secretariat as well as the offices of the Sub-Divisional Magistrates in Ladwa, Shahabad and Pehowa.
Meena appealed to citizens to visit the exhibitions and learn more about the history, significance and proper display of the national flag. The exhibitions provide detailed information about the Tricolour and the rules governing its use.
The Deputy Commissioner said the national flag can be made from materials including polyester, wool, silk and khadi, while its use and display are governed by the Flag Code of India. He stressed that no letter, word, sentence or slogan can be written on the national flag.
The exhibition also highlights the history of the Indian flag and informs visitors that its original design is associated with Pingali Venkayya. The Ashoka Chakra at the centre of the Tricolour has 24 spokes, representing an important element of the national flag’s design.
Meena said the Flag Code also lays down specific rules regarding the display and folding of the national flag. He urged citizens to respect the Tricolour and follow the prescribed guidelines while participating in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
