Around 40 units collected at a Seva Sankalp Abhiyan camp as the Agriculture Minister urges healthy people to come forward and donate blood
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Shyam Singh Rana has urged healthy people to donate blood, describing voluntary blood donation as an important form of service to humanity. He was speaking as the chief guest at a blood donation camp organised by the Radaur Municipal Committee at Safal Palace in Radaur under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
Around 40 units of blood were collected at the camp. Rana interacted with donors, encouraged people to participate in such initiatives and appreciated those who came forward to contribute.
Blood Donation Can Support Patients in Need
Rana said human blood has no substitute and that a voluntary donation can help patients who require transfusion. He said blood donation provides an opportunity to contribute to society without discrimination and encourages a spirit of collective responsibility.
He specifically highlighted the needs of people living with thalassemia, many of whom require regular blood transfusions. Regular donation drives, he said, can help strengthen the availability of blood for patients and hospitals.
The minister also acknowledged the contribution of young people to humanitarian activities and urged them to continue participating in voluntary blood donation camps whenever medically eligible.
Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Promotes Public-Service Activities
Rana said social welfare and public-service programmes are being organised under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in Haryana and other parts of the country. During Seva Pakhwada, activities include blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, initiatives associated with self-reliance, painting competitions, intellectual conferences, health check-up camps and marathons.
According to the minister, such programmes are intended to encourage a culture of service and motivate citizens to contribute to community welfare. He said public-service initiatives can also be organised around important commemorative occasions to encourage wider participation.
Rana also spoke about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He encouraged people to undertake regular physical activity, including morning walks, to remain active and support overall well-being.
Deendayal Upadhyaya Jayanti Programme on September 25
The minister also appealed to BJP leaders, workers, sarpanches and villagers to attend the programme scheduled at the Grain Market in Radaur on September 25, 2026, to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Rana said Deendayal Upadhyaya emphasised national service and the principle that development and welfare benefits should reach the last person in society. He referred to Antyodaya in this context and said governments were working to extend welfare measures to different sections of the population.
Officials and Local Representatives Attend
The event was attended by Safai Karamchari Commission chairman and former MLA Ishwar Singh Palaka, Municipal Committee chairman Rajneesh Mehta, Municipal Committee secretary Surendra Malik, Sanitation Inspector Sumit Bains, Cooperative Society chairman Dharam Singh Banchal, BJP Mandal president Krishna Kamboj, Charan Singh Topra, Amit Garg and other local leaders, workers and dignitaries.
