Campaign Focuses on Public Welfare and Participation»
Yamunanagar Deputy Commissioner Preeti said the objective of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is to take the spirit of service and public welfare to every section of society. She said various departments are organising a range of activities to make the campaign meaningful and ensure wider public participation.
Activities being organised under the campaign include blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, painting competitions, intellectual conferences, health check-ups and marathons, among others.
Preeti said the campaign should not remain limited to government departments. Social organisations, voluntary groups, public representatives and citizens were also being encouraged to participate actively so that the benefits of the campaign could reach a wider section of the population.
Self-Help Groups Boost Women’s Economic Confidence»
Highlighting the importance of women’s economic empowerment, the Deputy Commissioner said government efforts to promote self-help groups were showing positive results. Women associated with these groups were getting opportunities to connect their skills and talent with employment and strengthen their family incomes.
She said self-help groups were not only helping women participate in economic activities but were also increasing their confidence. Regular meetings, training programmes and institutional support were helping women develop and expand their work.
Appealing to women to join self-help groups, Preeti urged them to use their skills to create employment opportunities and move towards greater economic self-reliance.
Timely Delivery of Government Schemes a Priority»
The Deputy Commissioner directed officers and employees to work with coordination, dedication and sensitivity to make every activity under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan successful. She said service was not merely a government responsibility but a collective responsibility towards society.
The administration’s priority, she said, was to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government schemes in a timely and transparent manner. Officials were asked to provide people with information about welfare schemes and extend necessary assistance to eligible beneficiaries.
Preeti also appealed to residents to participate in the campaign and contribute to social welfare activities. She said even a small effort made with a spirit of service could bring a significant positive change to the life of a person in need.
She directed all departments to regularly monitor activities conducted under the campaign and ensure that their benefits reach the maximum possible number of people.
