An extension lecture on “Youth Empowerment and Skill Development” was organised at DAV Girls College, Yamunanagar, under the joint aegis of the Indian Knowledge System and Art of Living. Art of Living teacher Daisy Bhalla was the keynote speaker at the programme.
The event was chaired by the college’s officiating Principal, Dr Surinder Kaur, and programme convenor Dr Kiran Sharma.
Addressing the students, Daisy Bhalla said human life is precious and every dream can be achieved with positive thinking, clear goals and firm determination. She said people experience both positive and negative situations in life, and while good experiences should be embraced, difficult circumstances should also be treated as opportunities to learn and move forward.
Sharing examples from her own life journey, Bhalla spoke about the challenges and struggles that often remain behind every success. She said the determination to achieve something better, coupled with continuous effort, had motivated her to keep moving ahead.
She explained that the Art of Living is not merely about living life but about filling every moment with positivity, enthusiasm and a meaningful outlook. Her interaction with the students focused on developing a constructive mindset and maintaining determination while facing challenges.
Officiating Principal Dr Surinder Kaur said every moment of life is valuable and beautiful. She encouraged students to learn from every situation and approach life with a positive attitude.
Programme convenor Dr Kiran Sharma said the purpose of such programmes is not limited to listening to inspirational thoughts. Their real value lies in applying the lessons in one’s behaviour and daily life, she added.
The programme was attended by Dr Gursharan Kaur, Dr Deepika Ghai, Dr Paramash Kumar, Yashika, Monica, Hiral, Neelam, Shalini and Jyoti, among others.
