The Municipal Corporation Yamunanagar-Jagadhri conducted a special ‘Clean Office Campaign’ on Monday at all three of its offices as part of the Seva Sankalp and Swachhata Hi Seva initiative. The drive focused on improving cleanliness across office premises and encouraging employees to treat sanitation not merely as a routine responsibility but as a collective public movement.

Focus on Clean and Organised Workplaces

During the campaign, sanitation teams and municipal employees carried out intensive cleaning in office premises, branch rooms, rooftops, parking areas and surrounding spaces. Particular attention was given to places that had remained neglected for a long period and had accumulated unnecessary material or waste.

Officials said the exercise was aimed at creating cleaner, more organised and healthier working environments for employees as well as residents visiting municipal offices for public services. Unnecessary waste collected during the campaign was removed and disposed of properly, while employees were sensitised about maintaining cleanliness on a regular basis instead of limiting such efforts to special drives.

Cleanliness Drive Across Three Municipal Offices

The campaign was implemented simultaneously at the Municipal Corporation’s three office locations. At the office near Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Chief Sanitation Inspectors Vinod Beniwal and Govind Sharma supervised the sanitation activities.

At the Kanhaiya Sahib Chowk office, Chief Sanitation Inspector Amit Kamboj oversaw the cleaning operation. At the Jagadhri office, Chief Sanitation Inspector Harjeet Singh supervised the campaign and coordinated the work carried out by sanitation personnel.

The coordinated exercise was designed to ensure that cleanliness standards were addressed across all three municipal establishments rather than being restricted to one administrative location.

Emphasis on Waste Segregation

Specialists associated with the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban also participated in the campaign. Akash Kumar, Durgesh Kumar and Gagan urged municipal employees to keep waste bins available at appropriate locations and to ensure proper segregation of wet and dry waste.

They stressed that effective waste management begins with segregation at source. Employees were encouraged to avoid mixing different forms of waste and to contribute towards zero-waste efforts wherever possible. Such practices, officials noted, can help improve the efficiency of collection and disposal systems while reducing avoidable litter around public offices.

Employees Take Cleanliness Pledge

Employees participating in the campaign pledged to maintain cleanliness in and around their workplaces and to encourage others to adopt responsible sanitation practices. The message from the campaign was that cleanliness should become part of everyday civic behaviour rather than remain limited to government-led drives on designated occasions.

The initiative was carried out under the guidance of Mayor Suman Bahmani and Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Prasad. The municipal administration emphasised that clean offices can set an example for citizens and strengthen public participation in sanitation and waste-management efforts.

The campaign also underlined the importance of maintaining cleanliness in places where citizens frequently visit for municipal services. Regular housekeeping, proper disposal of unwanted material and segregation of wet and dry waste can collectively contribute to cleaner public spaces and a more efficient civic environment.
