Yamunanagar Police Step Up Action Against Crime, Absconders and Traffic Violations with Three Key Drives

Yamunanagar police have reported action in three separate initiatives involving crime detection, the arrest of a court-declared absconder and a road-safety awareness drive, with officials saying enforcement and public participation remain central to maintaining law and order.
CIA-1 Arrests Three in Alleged Chain-Snatching Case
Police said one of the three arrested men was allegedly travelling with the complainant and was involved in planning the incident.
According to the police spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal has directed district police teams to take firm action against crime and those involved in criminal activities. Acting on these directions, the CIA-1 team arrested three youths in connection with an alleged snatching incident near village Dhodg. Police said one of the suspects was known to the complainant and had allegedly accompanied him before the incident.
CIA-1 in-charge Raj Kumar said the team received confidential information that three youths were moving near the Highway Aurangabad rest area, allegedly looking for an opportunity to commit another offence. A team comprising Sub-Inspector Sonu, Assistant Sub-Inspector Manish Kumar, Sushil and Amarjeet was constituted and sent to the location. Police said the three suspects were apprehended following the information.
The arrested suspects were identified as Hari Om of Mata Mohalla, Radaur; Baldev of Shri Ram Colony, Radaur; and Sandeep alias Chucha of Dhobi Mohalla, Radaur. Police said they were produced before a court and taken on remand for further questioning. Investigators are examining the circumstances of the alleged offence and the role of each suspect.
Police said preliminary investigation linked the trio to an alleged chain-snatching incident near village Dhodg. According to the complaint, Sahil of Radaur told police that on September 18 he was travelling by motorcycle from Yamunanagar towards Radaur when two motorcycle-borne men allegedly approached him near Dhodg and snatched a chain from his neck before fleeing.
Investigating officer Manish Kumar said the inquiry indicated that Baldev had travelled to Yamunanagar with Sahil and allegedly knew the complainant’s movements. Police allege that a plan had already been made and that Baldev informed Hari Om and Sandeep, who then followed them on a motorcycle. The alleged snatching took place near Dhodg, after which the suspects reportedly fled. The investigation and questioning on remand are continuing.
PO Staff Arrests Court-Declared Absconder
A special team arrested a man who had been declared a proclaimed offender after he allegedly failed to appear before the court.
In a separate operation, the Proclaimed Offender Staff of Yamunanagar police arrested a man who had been declared a proclaimed offender by a court, police said. The accused was subsequently produced before the court and sent to judicial custody as per the legal process.
Police said the operation was carried out under the directions of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal. A special team was constituted under the leadership of Inspector Jagbir Singh, in-charge of the PO Staff, with Assistant Sub-Inspector Ashwini and Head Constables Sandeep, Mahavir and Rajat as members.
Acting on confidential information, the team arrested Kartik alias Nonny, son of Jaswant, a resident of Bhatia Nagar. Police said he was involved in a criminal case and had been declared a proclaimed offender by the court after failing to appear in the proceedings. According to the police, he had remained away from the process of law, but the team’s efforts led to his arrest.
Police said further legal proceedings were initiated after the arrest and that the accused was sent to judicial custody. The Superintendent of Police appreciated the work of the team and said, according to the police statement, that the drive against absconders and offenders would continue.
Yamaraj-Themed Road Safety Campaign Urges Riders to Wear Helmets
A public awareness programme used a dramatic street presentation to underline that helmets are meant to protect lives, not merely avoid traffic penalties.
In another initiative, the district traffic police, in association with Anti Corruption and Crime Prevention, organised a road-safety and helmet awareness campaign to educate motorists about traffic rules and responsible driving. Police said the programme was conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal.
Traffic police station in-charge Sandeep Kumar said the campaign was designed to make the message practical and engaging for road users. A street presentation featuring an actor portraying Yamaraj became a major attraction. Through the performance, motorists were urged to wear helmets, follow traffic rules and drive carefully.
The presentation conveyed a direct public-safety message: helmets should not be viewed merely as a way to avoid a challan, but as an important measure for protecting the rider and the rider’s family. The organisers also sought to highlight the consequences that can follow from careless driving and failure to use basic safety equipment.
Members of Anti Corruption and Crime Prevention thanked Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, Assistant Superintendent of Police Ashish Chaudhary and SHO Sandeep for supporting the awareness programme. The organisation said similar public-awareness activities would continue in the future.
The campaign concluded with an appeal to motorists to make helmet use and compliance with traffic rules part of their everyday road behaviour. The police and organisers emphasised that responsible driving can help reduce avoidable risks and protect both road users and their families.
Three Initiatives, One Public-Safety Focus
Taken together, the three police updates cover different aspects of public safety: investigation of an alleged street crime, enforcement of court processes against an absconder and preventive awareness for motorists. While the first two cases remain subject to the ongoing legal process and investigation, the traffic campaign focuses on encouraging residents to adopt safer behaviour before accidents occur.
