Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner Preeti, the district administration organised a Samadhan Shivir at the District Secretariat to provide prompt redressal of public grievances. The camp was held under the Haryana government’s programme aimed at resolving citizens’ problems through direct interaction with officials at both district and sub-divisional levels.
Superintendent of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Anoop Kumar said that, as per the directions of the state government, Samadhan Shivirs are being organised twice a week to ensure that members of the public can bring their grievances directly before the administration. The camps are held every Monday and Thursday from 10 am to 12 noon at both district and sub-divisional levels.
The initiative is intended to provide citizens with an accessible platform to raise issues concerning government departments and essential civic services. Officials attending the camps are expected to listen to complaints and take appropriate action so that genuine grievances can be addressed without unnecessary delay.
A Samadhan Shivir was organised in the auditorium of the District Secretariat under the chairmanship of Anoop Kumar. Three complaints were received during the session, covering issues related to sewerage maintenance and the supply of cooking gas.
Raj Aggarwal, a resident of Yamunanagar, approached the administration with a complaint regarding the cleaning of sewerage infrastructure. He requested appropriate action to ensure that the sewerage-related problem was addressed.
Another resident of Yamunanagar, Manoj Banerjee, raised the issue of cleaning the main sewerage line in Professor Colony near the Old Ambe Gas Godown. The complaint highlighted the need for maintenance of the main sewerage line in the area and sought intervention from the concerned authorities.
A third complaint was submitted by Chandrabhan, a resident of Radaur. He raised a grievance concerning Prem Gas Service, alleging that he was not being provided with a gas cylinder and that he had faced misbehaviour while seeking the service. The issue was brought before the administration for appropriate consideration and action.
The presence of officials from different departments during the Samadhan Shivir is aimed at facilitating coordination and ensuring that complaints can be directed to the appropriate authorities. Such public grievance forums also provide officials with an opportunity to understand local problems directly from residents and assess issues requiring departmental intervention.
An additional feature of the camp was a short yoga session conducted for officials and employees. Dr Shiv Kumar, a yoga expert from the AYUSH Department, led the participants in a five-minute yoga practice during the meeting.
Dr Shiv Kumar demonstrated simple yoga exercises and encouraged the officials and employees present at the camp to incorporate yoga into their daily routine. The session was intended to promote awareness about physical and mental well-being among government personnel while they continue to perform their administrative responsibilities.
Anoop Kumar also encouraged the officials and employees to make yoga a part of their routine alongside their professional duties. He said maintaining good health is important for employees because a healthy workforce can perform its responsibilities more effectively and efficiently.
The inclusion of yoga in the grievance redressal programme added a wellness component to the administrative exercise. Government employees often work under demanding schedules while handling public complaints and departmental responsibilities. Regular physical activity and practices such as yoga can support overall well-being and help employees maintain focus while carrying out their duties.
The Samadhan Shivir also witnessed the presence of special members Jagdish Babbar and Khareti Lal Batra, along with officials from various departments. Their participation reflected the involvement of different stakeholders in the public grievance mechanism.
The district administration’s emphasis on holding the camps on fixed days and at fixed timings is intended to make the grievance redressal process more predictable and accessible for residents. Citizens can use these sessions to bring civic, departmental and service-related problems before the administration instead of relying solely on routine departmental channels.
The three complaints received during the latest camp concerned everyday services that directly affect residents, including sewerage maintenance and LPG supply. Such complaints highlight the importance of responsive local administration in addressing issues connected with basic public services.
The Samadhan Shivir mechanism also provides an opportunity to identify recurring civic problems and ensure that complaints reach the departments responsible for resolving them. Regular monitoring of grievances can help improve coordination between departments and strengthen the administration’s connection with residents.
Officials present at the camp were reminded of the importance of attending to public concerns alongside their regular administrative responsibilities. The initiative seeks to make grievance redressal more citizen-focused by creating a direct channel between residents and government authorities.
The district administration has reiterated that Samadhan Shivirs will continue to be held every Monday and Thursday from 10 am to 12 noon at district and sub-divisional levels. Residents with genuine grievances can approach the designated camps to present their problems before the concerned authorities.
The latest session combined public grievance redressal with a brief wellness activity, reflecting the administration’s focus on both efficient public service and the well-being of its employees. The participation of officials and special members contributed to the smooth conduct of the programme.
With regular grievance camps and direct interaction between citizens and officials, the administration aims to strengthen the mechanism for timely resolution of public complaints and improve the delivery of essential services across the district.
