Acting under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, the Yamunanagar Police Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell has arrested a second accused in connection with a motorcycle theft case in which three stolen bikes were earlier recovered.
According to the police spokesperson, the Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell has been taking effective action against vehicle theft and other property-related crimes in the district. In the latest development, the team arrested an alleged bike thief who was reportedly involved in stealing three motorcycles along with another accused who had been arrested earlier.
Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell In-charge Rajesh Kumar said that the police team had earlier arrested Vishal alias Gullu, a resident of village Budiyo in Ambala district, from the Kal Bypass area along with a stolen motorcycle.
During the investigation and subsequent recovery, police recovered a total of three stolen motorcycles from the accused.
During questioning, Vishal allegedly disclosed that he had stolen the three motorcycles along with his associate Aniket alias Nanha, who is also a resident of the same village.
Acting on the information gathered during the investigation, the Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell launched further action and arrested Aniket in connection with the case.
The accused was produced before the court and was subsequently sent to judicial custody, police said.
Police officials stated that the investigation into the case is continuing and further details are being examined to establish the complete circumstances surrounding the thefts and the possible involvement of the accused in other vehicle theft incidents.
The district police have reiterated that a continuous campaign is being carried out to curb vehicle theft and identify those involved in such criminal activities.
The police have also appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant about the safety of their vehicles and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
The Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell’s action is part of the ongoing efforts of Yamunanagar Police to strengthen action against vehicle theft and ensure strict legal proceedings against those found involved in criminal activities.
