Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal to intensify action against crime and criminals, the Farakhpur Police Post team in Yamunanagar has arrested an accused in connection with an alleged earring-snatching incident involving a woman who was walking on foot. Police said the stolen earrings have also been recovered from the accused.

According to information provided by the police spokesperson, the district police have been directed to take strict action against criminal activities and ensure effective action against offenders. In line with these instructions, the Farakhpur Police Post launched an investigation into a complaint lodged by a woman resident of Prithvi Nagar.

Police said the woman alleged that she was walking when a motorcycle-borne person suddenly approached her, snatched the earrings from her ears and fled from the spot.

Following the complaint, a case was registered under the relevant provisions of law, and a police team was constituted to trace and arrest the accused.

Farakhpur Police Post In-charge Surjit Singh said the investigating team immediately began working on the case. During the investigation, police examined available CCTV camera footage and also used intelligence inputs to identify and track the suspected offender.

Based on the investigation, the police arrested one person, identified as Ravi Panjeta, son of Neb Singh, a resident of village Golanpur.

Police said the earrings allegedly snatched from the woman were recovered from the possession of the accused.

The arrest and recovery were made as part of the district police’s continuing efforts to take prompt action in cases involving theft, snatching and other crimes affecting public safety.

After completing the initial legal formalities, the accused was produced before a court and subsequently sent to judicial custody, police said.

Police officials stated that the use of CCTV surveillance and intelligence inputs played an important role in identifying and apprehending the accused. The district police have also reiterated their commitment to acting firmly against criminal elements and ensuring that complaints related to crimes against citizens are investigated promptly.

The Farakhpur Police team’s action in the case resulted in both the arrest of the accused and the recovery of the stolen jewellery, providing a significant development in the investigation.
