A Shubh Milan programme was organised by the Social Samrasta Manch in village Mehlawali, where 40 young devotees from the village who returned after undertaking the Kanwar Yatra from Haridwar were honoured for their religious devotion, discipline and participation. The programme also highlighted the importance of guiding the energy of young people towards constructive social, cultural and nation-building activities.

The young devotees had travelled to Haridwar to bring back holy Ganga water for Lord Shiva. After returning to the village, they offered the sacred water at the local Shiva temple with devotion and discipline. The religious activity was conducted in an atmosphere of faith and enthusiasm, with the participation of members of the local community.

Members of the village Kheda Committee and social workers congratulated the Kanwariyas for completing the pilgrimage and appreciated their commitment and disciplined participation. The organisers said that religious and cultural activities provide young people with an opportunity to remain connected with their traditions while also developing a sense of discipline, responsibility and social unity.

Village Kheda Committee president Sunit, along with Naresh, Sulekha, Deepa, Lakhwinder, Balbir, Raj Singh, Ravinder Saini and other social workers, attended the programme. The dignitaries and committee members extended their best wishes to the young devotees and praised their dedication to the Kanwar Yatra.

The programme also focused on the need to protect young people from drug abuse. Speakers urged the youth to stay away from drugs and other harmful habits and to channel their energy towards activities that can benefit their families, communities and the nation. They said that the growing energy and potential of young people can become a major force for positive social change if it is guided in the right direction.

The speakers emphasised that connecting the younger generation with constructive social, religious and cultural activities is important for building a responsible and united society. They said participation in such activities can strengthen values such as discipline, cooperation, respect for traditions and service to society.

The organisers also encouraged the youth to take an active role in community development and nation-building. They said young people should not limit their participation to religious occasions but should also come forward for social service, environmental protection, education, awareness campaigns and other activities aimed at improving society.

The Shubh Milan programme provided an opportunity for the community to recognise the efforts of the young Kanwariyas and encourage them to continue contributing positively to society. The organisers said that honouring young people for disciplined and constructive participation can motivate others to become involved in meaningful community initiatives.

Information was also shared during the programme about a Youth Conference scheduled to be held on August 30 at New Green Shivalik School. The organisers appealed to all young people to participate in the conference in large numbers and make it a successful platform for youth engagement and social awareness.

The organisers said that such youth-focused programmes are important for creating a positive environment in villages and encouraging young people to take responsibility for the future of society. They expressed hope that greater youth participation in social and cultural programmes would help strengthen social harmony and create a more responsible generation.

The event concluded on a positive note, with the organisers reiterating their commitment to encouraging youth participation in constructive activities and promoting social harmony in the community.
