SP Kamaldeep Goyal lauds Cyber Cell’s efforts, urges citizens to report lost phones immediately to prevent misuse.

In a significant success for the district’s Cyber Cell, the Yamunanagar Police recovered 78 lost mobile phones worth approximately ₹17.38 lakh and returned them to their rightful owners during a programme held at the office of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal.
Addressing the gathering, SP Kamaldeep Goyal said the Cyber Cell has been playing a crucial role not only in tackling cybercrime but also in tracing lost mobile phones using technical investigation and digital tracking methods. He appreciated the team’s dedicated efforts in recovering the devices and reuniting them with their owners.
The recovered mobile phones were handed over to their respective owners, who expressed their gratitude to the district police and praised the Cyber Cell for its prompt and efficient work. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Cyber Cell In-charge Sub-Inspector Shubham, along with Constables Manish, Sachin, Naveen and Shiv.
The SP said recovering lost phones is important not only because of their monetary value but also because they often contain sensitive personal information, banking details and official documents. He warned that stolen or misplaced mobile phones can fall into the hands of criminals and be misused for illegal activities if they are not reported immediately.
Kamaldeep Goyal urged citizens to remain vigilant and keep their mobile phones secure at all times. He advised people not to hand over their phones to unknown persons and to immediately report any loss or theft to the police so that technical teams can begin tracing the device without delay.
He also appealed to the public that if anyone finds a lost mobile phone, it should be deposited at the nearest police station or police outpost instead of being kept for personal use. Using the phone’s IMEI number and other technical details, the police can identify the rightful owner and return the device. He added that citizens who honestly deposit found mobile phones help strengthen public trust and contribute to a safer society.
The district police reiterated its commitment to using technology to protect citizens’ property and curb the misuse of stolen or lost mobile devices.
Man Arrested with 24 Bottles of Illicit Liquor in Jagadhri Police Crackdown
Continuing its crackdown on the illegal liquor trade, the Yamunanagar Police have arrested a man and seized 24 bottles of illicit country-made liquor during a special enforcement drive in Jagadhri.
According to the police spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal has issued strict directions to all police units to take firm action against the sale, transportation and possession of illegal liquor across the district. Acting on these instructions, a team from City Jagadhri Police Station conducted a successful operation leading to the recovery of the contraband.
Station House Officer Virender Kumar said the operation was carried out by Head Constable Suman Kumar, who apprehended a suspect found in possession of 24 bottles of illegal country liquor during routine police action.
The accused has been identified as Amarjeet Sharma, son of Ishwar Sharma, a resident of Budhiya village. The recovered liquor was seized, and a case has been registered against the accused under the provisions of the Excise Act.
Police officials said further investigation is underway to determine the source of the illicit liquor and whether the accused was involved in a larger network engaged in the illegal trade.
The district police reiterated that strict action will continue against individuals involved in the illegal manufacture, sale and transportation of liquor, warning that violations of the Excise Act will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law.
