Four police-related developments in Yamunanagar district concern an alleged heroin seizure near the Kalanour border, a reported house burglary in Gandhi Nagar, additional security measures for the festive period, and the arrest of a suspect in an earlier theft case. Police statements and complaints form the basis of the reports; allegations remain subject to investigation and legal proceedings.
1. Two Men Arrested with 120 Grams of Heroin Near Kalanour Border
Police say the suspects allegedly brought narcotics from Uttar Pradesh for sale in Haryana
The Anti-Narcotics Cell in Yamunanagar says it arrested two men riding a motorcycle and recovered 120 grams of heroin during a checking operation near the Kalanour border. According to police, the initial inquiry suggests that the suspects allegedly brought narcotics from Uttar Pradesh and sold them in Haryana. The claim is part of the ongoing investigation.
Police said cell in-charge Anil Kumar had received confidential information that two men would cross the border from Uttar Pradesh on a motorcycle while carrying narcotics. A team was formed and checking was intensified at the location. During the operation, officers stopped two motorcycle-borne men approaching from the Uttar Pradesh side and searched them.
According to the police account, the search led to the recovery of 120 grams of heroin. A duty magistrate was called to the spot for the procedure, police said. The suspects were identified as Sufiyan and Azam, residents of Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh. Police further said that Sufiyan’s motorcycle was allegedly being used to transport the substance.
A case has been registered against the two men. Investigators are now seeking to establish the source of the seized substance, the intended recipients and whether other people were involved. The allegations against the accused have not been established by a court.
2. Gold Jewellery and ₹25,000 Reported Stolen from Gandhi Nagar House
Police register case after family returns from a six-day visit to their native village
A house burglary has been reported in Gandhi Nagar Colony, Yamunanagar, where a family found household items scattered and a cupboard broken after returning home. The complaint says gold jewellery and cash, including approximately ₹25,000 kept in children’s piggy banks, were missing. Gandhi Nagar police have registered a case and begun an investigation.

Complainant Shashikala said she left on October 6 with her husband Rajnish and their younger daughter Sneha for their native village in the Jahangirganj police station area of Ambedkar Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, because her mother was unwell. The family remained there for around six days, according to the complaint.
On returning, the family allegedly found the house disturbed and the cupboard damaged. The missing items listed in the complaint include a set of gold earrings, one large and one small gold chain, a gold ring belonging to Rajnish and a gold ring belonging to Shashikala. 3. Yamunanagar Police Tighten Security for Diwali and Other Festivals
Checks, CCTV monitoring and patrols planned at markets, religious sites and key routes
Yamunanagar district police have announced enhanced security arrangements for Diwali and other major festivals, following directions from Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal. A security advisory asks police personnel to remain alert and increase surveillance in crowded areas as shopping and visits to religious places rise during the festive period.
Goyal said public movement typically increases in markets and religious sites from Diwali through Bhai Dooj. Police are therefore planning additional measures in both urban and rural areas to help maintain public order and respond to suspicious activity.

According to the police, checkpoints and checking points have been established in key towns, entry routes and sensitive locations. Personnel will be deployed at inter-state and inter-district checkpoints to check suspicious vehicles and individuals. The stated aim is to curb narcotics, illegal weapons and criminal activity.
Surveillance is also to be strengthened around religious sites, fairs and busy markets. Measures include CCTV monitoring, deployment of plainclothes personnel and increased patrolling by women police officers. Additional police personnel may be deployed at sensitive places as required. Station and police-post in-charges have been instructed to increase patrols and keep watch for suspicious activity.
Goyal appealed to residents to celebrate peacefully, maintain social harmony and inform police promptly about any suspicious person, object or activity. Police have emphasised that public cooperation is important to keeping the festive period safe.
4. Suspect Arrested in Sarojini Colony Theft Case; 1.5 Tolas of Gold Recovered
Police say the accused was brought on a production warrant and sent to judicial custody
Yamunanagar police say an accused in a house theft case in Sarojini Colony has been arrested on a production warrant and that one and a half tolas of gold was recovered during questioning. The Anti-Burglary Staff and Anti-Narcotics Cell-2 worked on the case, according to the police account.

Team in-charge Raman Chandel identified the accused as Akram, a resident of Sisauli who was reportedly staying at his in-laws’ home in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Police said he was brought from court on a production warrant for questioning in connection with the case.
The reported theft took place on August 12 at a locked house in Sarojini Colony. According to police, the homeowner’s son was admitted to hospital and family members had gone to visit him when the house was allegedly burgled. The accused is suspected of involvement in the incident, police said.
Police said one and a half tolas of gold was recovered during the investigation. They also stated that around a dozen cases had previously been registered against the accused and were pending before courts. Those cases and the present allegation must be considered separately through the legal process.
The accused was produced before a court and sent to judicial custody. Police said further investigation into the theft case is continuing.
The reports describe police allegations, complaints and investigative steps. Arrest or registration of a case does not establish guilt; the allegations must be determined through due legal process. Residents should use official police channels to report emergencies or suspicious activity.
