Anti-Burglary-cum-Anti-Narcotic Cell-2 traces alleged supplier after arrest of youth on Sadhaura–Vyasapur road

The Yamunanagar Police have intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking, arresting two persons in connection with the alleged possession and supply of 25.93 grams of heroin (smack).
Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, the Anti-Burglary-cum-Anti-Narcotic Cell-2 conducted the operation and arrested a youth allegedly found carrying the narcotic substance. During questioning, police also arrested the person who allegedly supplied the drug to him.
According to police spokesperson, Cell in-charge Raman Chandel received confidential information that a youth was allegedly roaming on the Sadhaura–Vyasapur road with the intention of selling narcotic substances.
A team comprising SI Sukhwinder, Satish, ASI Kuldeep, Abhay and Aman was constituted following the information. The team reached the location and apprehended the suspect. A duty magistrate was called to the spot, in whose presence the accused was searched.
Police said the search resulted in the recovery of 25.93 grams of heroin (smack). The accused was identified as Adil, a resident of Sadhaura.
During questioning, police said Adil disclosed that he allegedly obtained the narcotic substance from Lovepreet, also a resident of Sadhaura. Acting on the information, the police team subsequently arrested Lovepreet as well.
A case has been registered against both accused under the NDPS Act. They were produced before the court and taken on remand for further investigation.
Police said the investigation is continuing to establish the source of the narcotic substance and determine whether other persons are involved in the alleged supply network.
The district police reiterated that teams are maintaining intensified surveillance and taking strict action against individuals involved in drug trafficking as part of the ongoing campaign against narcotics.
SIR-2026: SDM Narendra Kumar Reviews Claims, Objections with Political Parties

SDM Narendra Kumar holds a meeting with political party representatives regarding SIR-2026 electoral roll claims and objections.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Narendra Kumar held a meeting with representatives of political parties regarding the claims and objections received up to August 6, 2026, under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls.
The meeting focused on the distribution of Forms 9, 10, 11, 11A and 11B to presidents of political parties and their BLA-1 representatives, in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India.
The SDM said the SIR exercise is aimed at making electoral rolls more accurate and error-free while ensuring that all eligible citizens are included in the voters’ list. He said the Election Commission’s programme provides an opportunity for citizens to verify their details and submit claims or objections wherever necessary.
Narendra Kumar informed the participants that the draft electoral rolls were published on July 31, 2026, and copies of the draft rolls were provided to all recognised political parties on the same day.
He said the draft electoral rolls would remain available with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at the respective polling stations for inspection by the general public. Voters can also access the electoral rolls through the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana website.
The SDM further stated that any voter can inspect the electoral rolls free of cost at the office of the concerned Electoral Registration Officer. The ASDD lists are also available at the ERO office for free public inspection.
He urged political parties and their representatives to actively participate in the revision process and assist in identifying eligible voters and discrepancies in the electoral rolls.
Representatives present at the meeting included Sarvpriya Jathlana, Halqa President of the Indian National Lok Dal, Satish Sharma of the Aam Aadmi Party from Radaur, Surendra Singh of the BJP, and other representatives.
Narendra Kumar said active participation by political parties and citizens is essential for preparing a transparent, accurate and error-free electoral roll and strengthening democratic participation.
SIR-2026: Political Parties Given Claims, Objections Lists for Sadhaura Voter Rolls
Election officials brief political party representatives on the SIR-2026 electoral roll revision process.
A meeting was held on Friday under the chairmanship of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Sadhaura (SC) regarding claims and objections received under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls and the distribution of related documents to representatives of political parties.
Representatives of various political parties participated in the meeting, where officials briefed them about the ongoing revision process and the steps being taken to ensure accurate and error-free electoral rolls.
The officials informed the participants that the draft electoral rolls for the Assembly constituency were published on July 31, 2026. As part of the SIR process, lists relating to claims and objections received up to August 6, 2026, along with Forms 9, 10, 11, 11A and 11B, were provided to representatives of political parties.
The ERO said the District Election Office had already supplied the draft electoral rolls to all political parties. The lists will also remain available with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at polling stations for public inspection.
Citizens can also access the electoral rolls through the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana website and inspect them free of cost at the concerned election office.
Representatives were specifically informed that lists of claims and objections received between July 31 and August 6 had also been made available. Political parties were urged to carefully examine the lists and bring any discrepancies or concerns to the notice of the election authorities.
Officials further informed the meeting that, under the Election Commission’s directions, voters whose records could not be mapped with the 2002 electoral roll, or whose names are not available in the 2002 voter list, are being served notices through the respective BLOs.
Political party representatives were requested to create awareness among citizens regarding these notices and encourage those receiving them to appear before the concerned authority on the specified date, time and venue with their original documents.
The officials also highlighted the need to ensure greater participation of young voters. Citizens who have attained the age of 18 years or above as on July 1, 2026, should be encouraged to submit Form 6 through their respective BLOs for inclusion in the electoral roll.
The meeting concluded with an appeal to political parties to widely publicise the SIR-2026 exercise and encourage eligible citizens to verify their electoral details and complete the prescribed process within the stipulated timeframe.
Officials said active cooperation from political parties and citizens would help ensure a transparent, accurate and comprehensive electoral roll and strengthen participation in the democratic process.
