Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Preeti has urged voters to carefully verify their names, addresses and other details in the draft electoral roll and appear before the concerned election official on the scheduled date if they receive a notice for a hearing related to any claim or objection.

She said appearing with the required documents would help ensure that claims and objections are disposed of in a timely, transparent and impartial manner.

The DC said the draft photo electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 has already been published. Citizens can submit claims and objections regarding inclusion of names, correction of details and other discrepancies until August 30, 2026. All claims and objections will be disposed of by September 28, while the final photo electoral roll will be published on October 3, 2026.

Preeti clarified that citizens whose names do not appear in the draft roll need not panic. Eligible citizens can apply for inclusion of their names by submitting Form-6 through their respective BLO, either online or offline, by August 30.

She stressed that the absence of a name from the draft list does not mean that a person’s vote has been permanently deleted. Citizens should first verify their details and then follow the prescribed procedure if their names are missing.

For corrections in name, address or other electoral details, voters can submit Form-8 along with the required declaration to the concerned ERO/AERO before the deadline.

The DC said voters can also check their electoral details through the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana’s website and contact their respective BLOs for assistance.

She further stated that hearing venues have been designated according to the concerned AERO and polling booth. Citizens who receive hearing notices must appear at the specified date, time and place along with their original supporting documents.

The SIR exercise is being conducted with July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. Eligible young citizens who have completed 18 years of age can also apply for inclusion in the electoral roll.

Preeti appealed to citizens and political parties to actively cooperate in the revision process, saying that an accurate, transparent and error-free electoral roll is essential for strengthening democracy.

DC Preeti directs officials to ensure prompt disposal of public grievances at district and sub-divisional levels

Deputy Commissioner Preeti said the district administration is conducting regular Samadhan Camps to ensure speedy resolution of public grievances in line with the government’s objective of providing prompt and accessible services to citizens.

She said the camps are being organised at the District Secretariat, Conference Room 203, every Monday and Thursday from 10 am to 12 noon. Similar camps are also being conducted at the sub-divisional level so that residents can bring their grievances closer to their place of residence.

The DC said every applicant appearing before the Samadhan Camp should receive proper attention and an earnest effort should be made to resolve the grievance on the spot.

She directed all concerned departmental officers to ensure the immediate disposal of complaints wherever possible. In cases where resolution requires verification of documents or other inquiries, officials have been instructed to complete the process within the prescribed timeframe and ensure that the applicant is not made to wait unnecessarily.

Preeti said the objective of the Samadhan Camps is not merely to receive complaints but to provide citizens with an effective mechanism through which their genuine problems can be addressed in a transparent and time-bound manner.

She directed departments to remain responsive to public grievances and ensure that matters requiring further examination are followed up until their final disposal.
