Heavy Vehicle Diversions Announced Due to Road Construction

Yamunanagar district police have issued a revised traffic advisory for heavy vehicles because of road construction work on the stretch from Jorian to Alipur near the Kurukshetra border. The advisory specifies alternative routes for heavy vehicles travelling between Yamunanagar, Karnal, Kurukshetra and Ladwa, with the aim of maintaining traffic flow and reducing inconvenience during construction.

According to the police spokesperson, movement on the affected roads will be impacted while the construction work continues. The district police have therefore identified alternative routes for heavy vehicles approaching from different directions. Drivers and transporters have been asked to follow the prescribed routes and avoid roads closed to heavy traffic.

Alternative Routes for Heavy Vehicles

Traffic Station In-charge Sandeep Kumar said that heavy vehicles travelling from Yamunanagar towards Karnal and Kurukshetra should use the route via Thana Chhapar, Adhoya Chowk and Shahabad to reach their destinations.

Heavy vehicles travelling from Kurukshetra towards Yamunanagar must take the route via Shahabad, Adhoya Mor and Thana Chhapar. Similarly, heavy vehicles coming from Ladwa towards Yamunanagar should travel via Babain, Shahabad and Adiya Mor before proceeding towards Thana Chhapar and entering Yamunanagar.

The police have clarified that, apart from the designated alternative routes, other affected routes will remain closed to heavy vehicles. Drivers should therefore check route information before beginning their journeys and plan their travel accordingly.

Police Appeal to Drivers and Transporters

Traffic Station In-charge Sandeep Kumar appealed to heavy vehicle drivers and transporters to obtain route information before setting out and strictly follow the directions issued by the police. They have been advised not to enter restricted roads and to use only the designated diversions.

He said maintaining orderly traffic during the road construction work remains a priority. Cooperation from drivers and transport operators will help keep traffic moving safely and support the completion of construction work without unnecessary disruption.

The police advisory is intended to guide heavy vehicles away from affected stretches and ensure that traffic continues to move through the identified alternative routes. Motorists, particularly those operating heavy commercial vehicles, should follow official instructions and remain alert to any further updates from the district police.
