The Yamunanagar district administration has intensified its efforts to ensure faster and more accessible resolution of public grievances through Samadhan Shivirs, with City Magistrate Piyush Gupta directing officials to make every possible effort to resolve complaints at the earliest, preferably on the spot.

The grievance redressal camps are now being organised twice a week—every Monday and Thursday from 10 am to 12 noon. The revised schedule has been introduced under the directions of the Haryana Government to provide citizens with a more regular platform for raising issues related to government departments and public services.

Piyush Gupta said that every effort should be made to address the grievances of applicants immediately when they approach the Samadhan Shivirs. In cases where an issue requires verification of documents, departmental examination or any other inquiry, officials have been instructed to ensure that the matter is processed and resolved within a reasonable and time-bound period.

He stressed that citizens visiting the camps should not face unnecessary delays or be made to move repeatedly from one office to another. Departments have been asked to deal with complaints seriously and coordinate with other concerned authorities wherever necessary to facilitate prompt action.

According to the administration, Samadhan Shivirs are being organised at both the district and sub-divisional levels, ensuring that people from different parts of the district can access the grievance redressal mechanism more conveniently. The initiative is aimed at strengthening direct communication between citizens and government officials while improving accountability in the disposal of public complaints.

During a Samadhan Shivir chaired by CTM Piyush Gupta at the auditorium of the District Secretariat, a complaint was received from Ayush Beniwal, a resident of Fatehgarh Tumbi, regarding the correction of income details in his family identity record. The matter was placed before the concerned authorities for appropriate action.

The administration reiterated that even when a complaint cannot be resolved immediately because it involves documentation or a detailed inquiry, the applicant should be given a clear and time-bound process for its disposal. Officials have been directed to monitor such cases and avoid unnecessary pendency.

The Samadhan Shivirs are part of the broader effort to make public administration more responsive and citizen-friendly. By creating a designated platform for people to directly present their concerns, the administration aims to reduce delays and ensure that issues are addressed through coordination among the concerned departments.

In addition to grievance redressal, the programme also included a brief wellness activity for officials and employees present at the camp. Dr Shiv Kumar, a Yoga expert from the AYUSH Department, conducted a five-minute yoga session during the meeting.

Piyush Gupta encouraged officers and employees to incorporate yoga into their daily routine along with their professional responsibilities. He said maintaining physical and mental well-being can help individuals perform their duties more efficiently and remain healthy despite demanding work schedules.

The brief yoga session was also intended to promote awareness about healthy workplace habits among government employees. Officials were encouraged to take small but meaningful steps towards maintaining fitness and reducing stress in their everyday lives.

Among those present at the programme were Anup Kumar, Superintendent in the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, special members of the Samadhan Shivir Khraiti Lal Batra, Jagdish Babbar, Neeraj Gupta and Surendra Sharma, along with officials from various government departments.

The district administration has appealed to concerned departments to treat every complaint received through the Samadhan Shivirs with seriousness and ensure that eligible applicants receive timely assistance. Officials have been instructed to maintain coordination and provide regular updates wherever a grievance requires action by more than one department.

With the camps now scheduled every Monday and Thursday, citizens will have regular opportunities to bring their concerns directly before government authorities. The administration expects the initiative to help improve the efficiency of public grievance redressal and strengthen confidence in the delivery of government services.
