Mayor Suman Bahmani Inspects Development Works in Chhoti Line
Yamunanagar Municipal Corporation Mayor Suman Bahmani, accompanied by Ward 8 councillor Vibhore Pahuja, inspected ongoing development works in Chhoti Line and reviewed the progress and quality of road and drain construction in the area. During the visit, the mayor took stock of the work being carried out on the ground and interacted with local residents to understand their civic concerns and requirements.
Local residents raised issues related to roads, drains, sanitation, water drainage and other civic facilities during the inspection. Mayor Suman Bahmani heard the concerns and directed the concerned officials to take action on priority. She stressed that development works should be executed according to prescribed standards and that quality must not be compromised at any stage.
Development Work Quality Under Review
The mayor inspected the ongoing road and drain construction and sought details from officials regarding the progress and quality of the works. She directed the concerned teams to ensure that construction material and execution remain in accordance with the required technical standards. She also emphasised that works should be completed within the stipulated timeframe so that residents can benefit from improved civic infrastructure without unnecessary delay.
She further instructed officials to maintain regular field-level monitoring of development projects instead of relying only on reports. According to the directions issued during the inspection, the quality of work should be checked at the site and any shortcomings should be addressed promptly. The objective, she said, should be to ensure that public funds and municipal resources result in durable and useful infrastructure for residents.

During the visit, Mayor Suman Bahmani reviewed the status of works with officials from the Engineering Branch, Sanitation Branch and Public Health Department. She sought information about ongoing projects and issued necessary directions regarding road construction, drainage, sanitation and other public utility-related concerns in the locality.
The mayor directed the officials to identify locations where water drainage problems persist and take appropriate measures to improve the situation. She also called for regular attention to sanitation and drain cleaning so that residents do not face avoidable difficulties because of accumulated waste or blocked drainage channels.
She instructed the departments concerned to ensure that ongoing construction does not create unnecessary inconvenience for local residents. Work sites should be managed in a manner that allows people to move through the area as safely and conveniently as possible while the projects are being completed.

The interaction with residents formed an important part of the inspection.
