Sub-Inspector Jaswinder Singh, posted with the Anti-Burglary Staff of Yamunanagar Police, was promoted to the rank of Inspector during a ceremony held at the office of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal. Marking the occasion, the SP adorned the newly promoted officer with his rank stars and congratulated him on his achievement.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Kamaldeep Goyal said that a promotion in the police force is not merely an elevation in rank but a recognition of an officer’s dedication, discipline, integrity and consistent professional performance. He noted that Jaswinder Singh had discharged his duties with honesty, commitment and responsibility throughout his service, earning the confidence of the department.
The SP expressed confidence that Inspector Jaswinder Singh would continue to perform his responsibilities with fairness, transparency and professionalism. He urged the officer to play an active role in maintaining law and order, preventing crime and ensuring better policing services for the public. Goyal added that promotions serve as a source of motivation for police personnel, encouraging them to work with greater dedication and commitment.
Expressing gratitude, Inspector Jaswinder Singh thanked the department and the Superintendent of Police for reposing faith in him. He pledged to carry out his new responsibilities with sincerity, honesty and unwavering commitment while continuing to work for public safety and effective law enforcement.
The promotion was also welcomed by fellow police officers and staff members, who extended their congratulations and wished Inspector Jaswinder Singh success in his new role.
Yamunanagar Police Intensifies Student Awareness Drive on Cyber Safety, Women’s Security and Drug Abuse
As part of its ongoing student outreach initiative, the Yamunanagar Police conducted awareness programmes at Government Senior Secondary School, Jaidhar, and Government Senior Secondary School, Chhachhrauli, educating students on cyber safety, women’s security, emergency services and the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The sessions were organised under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal and led by ASI Neelam of the Safe City Team. A large number of students participated in the interactive programme, where police officials highlighted the importance of legal awareness and personal safety.
During the sessions, ASI Neelam explained the significance of various emergency helplines. She informed students that 112 can be used for immediate police assistance, 1091 for women’s safety, 1098 for child-related emergencies, and 1930 for reporting cyber fraud and online financial scams. Students were encouraged to report problems promptly instead of remaining silent.
The police team also sensitised students about the growing menace of drug abuse, stating that addiction not only harms an individual’s health but also adversely affects families, careers and society. Students were encouraged to stay away from drugs and actively participate in education, sports and other constructive activities.
The awareness programme further covered topics such as women’s safety, personal security, responsible social media usage and protection against cybercrime. Students were advised not to share personal information with strangers online and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
Towards the end of the programme, several girl students shared their personal and social concerns with the police team. ASI Neelam patiently listened to their issues, offered guidance and made efforts to address their concerns on the spot.
Yamunanagar Police said similar awareness programmes will continue across educational institutions to ensure that more students become informed about their rights, safety measures and the legal support available to them.
