Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dr Kuldeep Singh on Monday heard grievances of residents during a Samadhan Shivir organised at the SDM office in Vyasapur and directed officials of the concerned departments to ensure their prompt and effective resolution on priority.

A total of two complaints relating to different government departments were received during the Samadhan Shivir. Dr Kuldeep Singh listened to the applicants and directed the concerned officials to examine their complaints carefully and take appropriate action in accordance with the prescribed rules and within the stipulated timeframe.

Speaking during the camp, the SDM said the Samadhan Shivirs were being organised on the directions of the state government with the objective of providing citizens with a convenient platform to raise their grievances and obtain timely solutions. He said the administration was committed to ensuring that genuine public complaints were addressed efficiently and that citizens did not face unnecessary delays while seeking government services.

Dr Kuldeep Singh said residents can bring complaints relating to a wide range of government departments to the Samadhan Shivir. These include issues concerning Parivar Pehchan Patra, ration cards, social security pensions, police services, Panchayati Raj institutions and other public services.

He said complaints that can be resolved immediately should be disposed of at the earliest, wherever possible. In cases where an issue requires verification by the concerned department, field-level inquiry, submission of documents or completion of a prescribed administrative procedure, the complaint should be forwarded to the appropriate department without delay.

The SDM directed officials to ensure that such cases are also processed within the stipulated timeframe. He stressed that citizens should receive timely relief and should not be compelled to make repeated visits to government offices for the same grievance.

Dr Kuldeep Singh said effective grievance redressal requires active coordination among government departments. Officials must take responsibility for the complaints assigned to them and ensure that necessary action is initiated promptly. He also instructed officers and employees to avoid unnecessary delays in the disposal of public grievances.

The Samadhan Shivir provides residents with a direct opportunity to place their concerns before the administration and seek intervention from the appropriate authorities. The administration has been focusing on making the grievance redressal process more accessible and responsive so that people can obtain assistance without unnecessary procedural difficulties.

The SDM said that when a complaint is supported by all necessary documents and does not require further inquiry, officials should make every effort to resolve it without delay. Where additional information or verification is required, the complainant should be informed about the necessary procedure and the matter should be pursued by the concerned department.

The two complaints received during Monday’s Samadhan Shivir were related to different departments. The concerned officials were directed to examine the matters and take appropriate action according to the applicable provisions.

Dr Kuldeep Singh reiterated that the administration’s priority is to ensure that genuine public grievances are dealt with fairly, transparently and within a reasonable timeframe. He said the objective of the Samadhan Shivir would be achieved only when complaints received from citizens are followed by effective action.

The SDM also emphasised the importance of maintaining a citizen-friendly approach while dealing with grievances. Officials were asked to listen carefully to applicants, understand the nature of their problems and guide them regarding the appropriate procedure wherever necessary.

The Samadhan Shivir was attended by officials and employees from several departments. Neha Sharma, Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Sadhaura; Kiran Bala, Child Development Project Officer; Rinkle, Junior Engineer, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam; Jatin, Junior Engineer, Public Works Department; Vinod from the KRID department; Ram Kumar from Market Committee Vyasapur; Rohtash Kanwar from the Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department; Dr Sandeep from the Health Department; and Tejinder from Municipal Council Sadhaura, among others, were present.

The presence of officials from multiple departments enabled residents to place their concerns before the appropriate authorities and facilitated coordination in matters requiring departmental intervention.

The administration has encouraged residents to use the Samadhan Shivirs for raising genuine complaints relating to public services. The initiative is intended to strengthen direct communication between citizens and government departments and ensure that issues are addressed through a structured and time-bound mechanism.

The SDM said the administration would continue to monitor the disposal of grievances and expected all departments to act promptly on complaints forwarded to them. He stressed that unnecessary pendency of public complaints would not serve the purpose of the Samadhan Shivir.

The focus on time-bound grievance redressal is also aimed at improving public confidence in government services. When citizens are able to approach officials directly and receive clear information about the status of their complaints, it can reduce inconvenience and improve the overall delivery of public services.

Dr Kuldeep Singh further directed officials to ensure that cases requiring departmental investigation are not allowed to remain pending without valid reasons. Where a complaint requires action from more than one department, proper coordination should be maintained so that the applicant does not have to approach different offices repeatedly.

The administration’s approach through the Samadhan Shivir is aimed at making the grievance redressal system more accessible at the sub-divisional level. By bringing officials from different departments together, residents can place their concerns before the administration and receive guidance on the appropriate course of action.

The SDM reiterated that the primary objective of the initiative is to provide timely relief to the public. He directed all officials and employees present at the camp to perform their responsibilities with seriousness and ensure that citizens receive appropriate assistance.

The Monday Samadhan Shivir concluded with directions to the concerned departments for further action on the complaints received. The administration said the mechanism would continue to provide residents with an opportunity to raise their grievances and seek timely intervention.

The initiative reflects the administration’s emphasis on responsive governance, timely grievance disposal and direct interaction with citizens. Officials have been directed to ensure that the complaints received through Samadhan Shivirs are dealt with according to established procedures and without avoidable delay.
