Eligible government, aided and permanently recognised private schools must meet infrastructure requirements and deposit prescribed fees

Government, aided and permanently recognised private schools across Haryana can apply for the establishment of a new examination centre in their own premises for the Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations to be conducted by the Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) in February/March 2027. Applications along with the prescribed fee and required documents must reach the Board by September 30, 2026.
Haryana Board of School Education Chairman Shankar Lal Dhoopar said schools intending to establish a new examination centre for the February/March 2027 Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations must download the examination centre establishment form available on the Board’s official website, complete it in all respects and submit it to the Board office by the stipulated deadline.
He said the application must be accompanied by the recommendation of the concerned District Education Officer. Schools have been advised to ensure that the completed application reaches the Board office either personally or through registered post on or before September 30.
Dhoopar said applicants must also submit the building plan along with the application. The portion of the school building proposed to be used as the examination centre must be clearly marked with a red pencil on the plan. The application should also indicate whether the halls and rooms are interconnected and clearly mention the measurements of every room and hall proposed for use during the examinations.
The Board has prescribed a number of infrastructure requirements for schools seeking approval as new examination centres. The school building should be located near a main road to ensure convenient access for students, examination staff and other authorised personnel.
The schools must also have an adequate CCTV surveillance system. According to the Board’s requirements, a total of 16 CCTV cameras must be installed. Of these, 13 cameras should cover the examination rooms, one should be installed in the control room or the room of the centre superintendent, and two should cover the school campus.
The Board has also made it mandatory for examination centres to provide desks for candidates during the examinations. Schools applying for a new centre will therefore need to ensure that the required seating arrangements and other prescribed infrastructure are available before the centre is established.
The eligibility requirements also specify a minimum number of candidates for different examinations. For a new centre for the Secondary examination, the school must have at least 200 candidates, while a minimum of 150 candidates is required for a new centre for the Senior Secondary examination.
Schools seeking establishment of a new examination centre will also have to deposit the prescribed charges with the Board. The examination centre establishment fee is ₹12,000, while an additional inspection fee of ₹3,000 is required to be deposited along with the application.
The Board has advised schools to carefully examine all applicable rules, conditions and instructions before submitting their applications. All detailed guidelines, eligibility conditions and requirements relating to the establishment of new examination centres for government, aided and permanently recognised private schools have been made available on the Board’s official website.
The examination centre establishment process is intended to ensure that schools selected to conduct board examinations have adequate infrastructure and arrangements for the smooth and secure conduct of examinations. The prescribed requirements relating to CCTV coverage, examination rooms, seating arrangements, building plans and accessibility are part of the Board’s preparations for the upcoming examination cycle.
Chairman Shankar Lal Dhoopar urged eligible schools intending to apply to complete the process within the prescribed timeframe and ensure that all required documents and recommendations are attached with the application. Any deficiency in the application or supporting documents could affect its processing, making it important for schools to verify the requirements before submission.
Schools have also been advised to ensure that the proposed examination premises are properly identified in the building plan and that all relevant measurements and structural details are clearly mentioned. This information will assist the authorities during the inspection and assessment process.
The Board’s announcement provides an opportunity for eligible schools that meet the prescribed conditions to become examination centres for the February/March 2027 board examinations. However, schools will have to fulfil the specified infrastructure, candidate-strength and documentation requirements before their applications can be considered.
The deadline for submitting applications is September 30, 2026, and schools seeking a new examination centre have been advised not to wait until the last date to complete the required formalities.
