Haryana State Safai Karamchari Commission member listens to rural concerns, visits religious and heritage sites and calls for greater social participation in development

Haryana State Safai Karamchari Commission member Advocate Sanjeev Gharu visited Ahadwala and Milk Khas villages in Bilaspur block and held direct interactions with residents, listening to their problems, requirements and suggestions. During the visit, he addressed public meetings and briefed villagers about various welfare and social security schemes being implemented by the Haryana government. He also visited religious and historical sites in the area and offered prayers for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people.
On reaching Ahadwala, Advocate Sanjeev Gharu first visited the village Shiva Temple, where he offered prayers and sought blessings for the happiness, peace and prosperity of the local residents. Later, he addressed a public meeting held in the presence of village Sarpanch Raj Kumar. During the interaction, he directly sought information from villagers regarding local issues, development requirements and matters requiring administrative attention.
Gharu said the real purpose of public service is to remain connected with the people, listen to their concerns, understand their requirements and make sincere efforts towards finding solutions. He assured the villagers that issues related to public welfare would be taken up at the appropriate level and that every possible effort would be made to ensure necessary action.
During his visit to Ahadwala, he also inspected land collectively purchased by villagers for a social purpose. Appreciating the initiative, he said such collective efforts demonstrate how society can rise above individual interests and work together for larger social welfare. According to him, initiatives undertaken collectively by villagers can become an inspiration for others and contribute significantly to strengthening social unity.
He urged residents to maintain social harmony and continue working collectively on issues related to public welfare and village development. He said that development becomes more meaningful when the community itself participates actively in identifying local needs and finding solutions.
Later, Advocate Sanjeev Gharu reached Milk Khas, where he addressed another public meeting and interacted with residents. He listened to their problems and suggestions and discussed issues related to the development of the area. He said the Haryana government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is continuously working for the welfare, development and empowerment of every section of society.
Gharu informed villagers about various government welfare schemes and appealed to eligible beneficiaries to make maximum use of the facilities available to them. He said the objective of government schemes is to ensure that the benefits of development and welfare reach the last person in society. He also urged residents to remain aware of government initiatives and help eligible people in their neighbourhood access the benefits for which they qualify.
During the public meeting, Gharu also briefed villagers about social welfare programmes being implemented under the guidance of Social Justice and related Welfare Department Cabinet Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi. He said special efforts are being made to ensure that disadvantaged, needy and weaker sections of society receive social security, dignity and welfare benefits in a timely manner.
He emphasised that social justice can become meaningful only when government schemes reach people standing at the bottom of the social and economic ladder. He appealed to villagers to spread awareness about welfare schemes and assist eligible beneficiaries in connecting with the government programmes.
As part of his visit, Advocate Sanjeev Gharu also reached the historic Narayan and Shiva Temple at Adi Badri and offered prayers. He prayed for peace, prosperity and happiness in the country and the state. He described Adi Badri as an important centre of Haryana’s historical, spiritual and cultural heritage.
Gharu said preserving the dignity, traditions and heritage of such religious and historical places is a collective responsibility. He stressed that the younger generation should also be connected with the state’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage so that these traditions continue to be preserved.
He subsequently visited the Dandi Swami Vinay Dev Ashram at Adi Badri and met the revered Mahant, seeking his blessings. He expressed respect for the spiritual traditions and religious activities of the ashram. He said the guidance of saints inspires society towards service, harmony, values and human welfare. According to him, religious and spiritual institutions have an important role in strengthening brotherhood, service-mindedness and positive thinking in society.
Gharu said his continued effort is to remain among the people and understand their actual problems and expectations. Direct interaction with villagers, he said, is an effective means of understanding the needs of an area and raising matters concerning public interest at the appropriate level.
He further said that active participation by villagers, welfare-oriented government policies and collective social efforts can together play an important role in building a strong and developed Haryana. He appealed to residents to maintain social unity, remain aware of government welfare schemes and actively participate in the development of their villages.
“The real meaning of public service is to remain among the people, listen to their concerns and continuously work towards solutions in their interest. Public dialogue, public service and public welfare are our commitment,” Gharu said.
A large number of villagers and local dignitaries attended the public meetings. Those present included Ahadwala Sarpanch Raj Kumar, Rajbir Singh, Mange Ram, Advocate Fateh Singh, Pradeep Masih, ex-serviceman Sohan Singh, Pramod Rana, Rishi Pal, Dharmveer Dahiya, Dharam Singh, Shiv Kumar, Rajat Gujjar and several other residents and prominent local citizens.
