Yamunanagar Public School Association discusses compliance, RTE audits, safety standards and educational reforms at district-level meeting

The Yamunanagar District Public School Association (YDPSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to student safety, quality education and strict adherence to government regulations during a district-level meeting attended by representatives of private schools from across the region.

Presiding over the meeting, M.S. Sawhney, Vice President of the Haryana Progressive Schools’ Conference (HPSC) and President of the Yamunanagar District Public School Association, said private schools continue to play a vital role in shaping the future of students by providing a safe, disciplined and academically enriching environment.

“Managing an educational institution is a challenging responsibility that extends far beyond classroom teaching. Our foremost priority is to ensure students receive quality education in a secure and inspiring atmosphere while complying with all statutory norms,” Sawhney said.

The meeting focused on several key issues, including minimum wages, administrative compliance, sports fund management, textbook-related matters, Right to Education (RTE) audits and school safety audits. Members resolved that all affiliated schools would continue to follow government regulations while prioritising students’ welfare and holistic development.

Referring to the landmark T.M.A. Pai Foundation judgment of the Supreme Court, participants observed that private educational institutions have made a significant contribution to India’s education sector. They stressed the need for greater cooperation and mutual trust between educational institutions and the administration to further strengthen the quality of schooling.

Sawhney also cautioned against making unverified allegations against private schools, stating that constructive dialogue and collaborative problem-solving are essential for creating a positive educational ecosystem.

HPSC District President Sanjay Kamboj said member schools are rigorously implementing student safety measures. He noted that students without valid driving licences are not permitted to bring two-wheelers or cars to school, while awareness campaigns are also being conducted to educate parents about road safety responsibilities.

Association Media Coordinator Dr M.K. Sehgal said private schools remain committed to educational excellence, student welfare and social responsibility through continuous coordination with government authorities. Varun Sharma emphasised that meaningful cooperation among all stakeholders is the key to strengthening the education system.

The meeting concluded with members reiterating their commitment to maintaining high academic standards, ensuring student safety and working closely with the government and society to promote quality education.
