District administration issues safety advisory to prevent drowning incidents during the monsoon season

In view of recurring drowning incidents, Deputy Commissioner Preeti has appealed to parents and guardians to ensure that children do not enter canals, rivers, ponds or other water bodies for bathing or recreation, warning that a moment of negligence can lead to irreversible tragedy.
The Deputy Commissioner said children represent the nation’s future, and protecting their lives must remain the foremost responsibility of every family. She urged parents to regularly educate children about the dangers of swimming in canals, rivers and ponds, particularly during the monsoon when water currents become unpredictable.
“Many accidents occur when children visit canals or other water bodies without supervision. Such incidents cause irreparable loss to families and can be prevented through awareness and vigilance,” she said.
Preeti specifically cautioned against bathing in the Western Yamuna Canal and other rivers, canals and ponds across the district, urging parents to closely monitor their children’s activities during school holidays and weekends.
She stressed that awareness at the family level is one of the most effective ways to prevent drowning incidents and appealed to parents to discourage children from venturing near unsafe water bodies under any circumstances.
Yamunanagar Continues Bi-Weekly Public Grievance Camps Every Monday and Thursday
The Yamunanagar district administration has reiterated its appeal to residents to make use of the ‘Samadhan Shivir’ (Public Grievance Camp) being organised twice every week to facilitate the prompt resolution of public grievances.
Deputy Commissioner Preeti said the initiative is being conducted in line with the Haryana Government’s objective of providing time-bound and citizen-friendly administrative services.
The grievance camps are held every Monday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Room No. 203 of the District Secretariat, while similar camps are also organised at the sub-divisional level to improve public access to government services.
The Deputy Commissioner said any resident facing issues related to government departments can approach the camp and submit their grievance for resolution.
She directed officials from all departments to address complaints at the earliest possible stage. Where disposal requires verification of documents or detailed inquiry, officers have been instructed to ensure that the cases are processed and resolved within a defined timeframe without unnecessary delay.
The district administration said the initiative is aimed at strengthening transparent governance, improving public service delivery and ensuring quicker resolution of citizens’ concerns.
