Election Preparations and Organisational Activities Discussed

The meeting reviewed the party’s preparations and organisational activities ahead of the municipal corporation elections proposed for December. Azad met local leaders and workers to seek feedback on their election planning and ground-level outreach.

He urged party workers to intensify public-contact campaigns and take the Congress’s policies and programmes to residents. He said a united effort would be essential for the party to perform strongly in the municipal elections. Workers were encouraged to visit households, explain development projects and welfare initiatives undertaken during Congress governments, and bring public concerns to the party’s attention.

Azad Raises Employment, Inflation and Farmers’ Concerns

Azad said that universities, IITs, AIIMS institutions, hospitals, airports and other major projects had developed during Congress rule. He criticised the BJP over promises related to employment and the assurance of depositing ₹15 lakh in every person’s bank account, saying people were asking questions about such commitments.

He also identified inflation, electricity bills, paper leaks, farmers’ and workers’ problems, and the growing impact of drug abuse as issues requiring serious attention. He called on party workers to listen carefully to residents, raise concerns affecting people’s daily lives and convey them through the party platform.

Calls for Stronger Public Outreach and Unity

Azad said regular engagement with the public, a stronger organisation and active participation by workers would be important to election preparations. He urged party members to strengthen the Congress and Rahul Gandhi’s leadership and to raise public-interest issues effectively.

Those present included Pradeep Mahajan, Sarwan Singh, District Congress Secretary Dharmendra Singh, District General Secretary Harpreet Sonu and other prominent people.
