Former MP and ex-Adampur MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi was honoured with a statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Udham Singh and a ceremonial shawl by Anti Terrorist Front India and Brahman Mahapanchayat National President Virresh Shandilya on the occasion of the 87th martyrdom day of the legendary freedom fighter.
The felicitation took place in Kurukshetra ahead of a public interaction programme, where Shandilya paid tribute to Shaheed Udham Singh and described his sacrifice as a lasting symbol of courage, patriotism and resistance against injustice.
Addressing the gathering, Shandilya said former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal played a significant role in maintaining law and order during the period of militancy in the region.
Referring to Bhajan Lal’s tenure, he claimed that strong measures taken by his government helped combat terrorism and safeguard the unity and integrity of the state.
He further stated that the Bishnoi family has consistently worked in the interest of national unity and public service.
Shandilya also announced the support of Anti Terrorist Front India and Brahman Mahapanchayat for Kuldeep Bishnoi’s ongoing public outreach programmes, saying they had generated renewed enthusiasm among Bhajan Lal’s supporters across Haryana.
Expressing his personal political opinion, Shandilya said many supporters now see Kuldeep Bishnoi as carrying forward the legacy of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal. He claimed that people associated with Bhajan Lal’s political ideology have become increasingly active following Bishnoi’s renewed engagement with party workers and the public.
Shandilya also appealed to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s central leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, to consider giving Kuldeep Bishnoi a larger role in national politics. He suggested that Bishnoi be nominated to the Rajya Sabha and inducted into the Union Council of Ministers. He also urged that BJP MLA Randhir Panihar and Bhavya Bishnoi be entrusted with significant responsibilities, stating that such decisions would strengthen the confidence of Bhajan Lal’s supporters within the party.
The programme concluded with floral tributes to Shaheed Udham Singh and a renewed pledge by participants to uphold the ideals of patriotism, national unity and public service inspired by the legendary freedom fighter.
