In a concerted effort to promote a drug-free society, Inner Wheel Club Jagadhri-Yamunanagar organised a large-scale anti-drug awareness campaign involving around 110 students from Dayanand Senior Secondary School, Bloomberg School, Industrial Estate, and Bloomberg School, Jorian.

The campaign began with powerful street plays performed by students, who highlighted the devastating physical, mental and social consequences of drug abuse. Through their performances, the students appealed to people, particularly the youth, to stay away from narcotics and adopt a healthy, responsible lifestyle.

Following the cultural presentations, an awareness rally was flagged off from Nehru Park on Model Town Road. Carrying placards and raising slogans in support of a drug-free India, the students marched through the area to spread awareness among residents. The rally encouraged citizens to take collective responsibility in combating substance abuse and creating a safer, healthier community.

Speaking on the occasion, members of the Inner Wheel Club emphasised that awareness among young people is one of the most effective ways to curb the growing menace of drug addiction. They said educational institutions and social organisations must work together to instil positive values and inspire students to make informed life choices.

The programme concluded with refreshments for all participating students and a collective pledge to contribute towards building a “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India).

The event was attended by Club President Ragini Vinayak, former presidents Neelima Saini and Leena Gupta, along with club members Avi, Amrita Gupta, Nidhi Garg, Sandeep Vig and other volunteers, who actively participated in making the campaign a success.

The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to conducting similar awareness programmes in the future to strengthen the fight against drug abuse and encourage a healthy and addiction-free society.
