HSNCB Kurukshetra Unit conducts an anti-drug operation in Gadhouli Majra, Yamunanagar, leading to the alleged recovery of 8 grams of heroin.

The Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB) has intensified its campaign against drug trafficking across the state, with the Kurukshetra Unit making an arrest in Yamunanagar district. Acting on specific intelligence, the team arrested a man from Gadhouli Majra village and allegedly recovered 8 grams of heroin from his possession.
The action was carried out under the direction of Additional Director General of Police and HSNCB chief Sanjay Kumar, IPS, and the guidance of senior officers of the bureau. Officials said the operation forms part of the continuing drive to identify and disrupt illegal drug supply networks operating in different parts of Haryana.
Action Based on Specific Intelligence
HSNCB Kurukshetra Unit in-charge Inspector Mange Ram said a team led by ASI Rajendra Kumar was conducting patrol and surveillance activities in the Yamunanagar area as part of efforts to prevent the sale and transportation of narcotic substances.
During the patrol, the team reportedly received information from a confidential source regarding the presence of a suspected drug supplier in Gadhouli Majra.
According to the information received by the team, Harish Kumar, son of Gurmej Singh and resident of Gadhouli Majra, was allegedly involved in selling heroin, commonly referred to as smack. The information further indicated that he was near Fauji Kanta in the village and was allegedly waiting to sell the substance.
After assessing the information, the team proceeded towards the location and conducted an operation.
Officials said that when the team reached the area, a man matching the description provided by the source allegedly noticed the police personnel and attempted to flee. The team immediately intervened and apprehended him.
During questioning, the individual identified himself as Harish Kumar, as stated by the HSNCB officials.
8 Grams of Heroin Recovered
The officials said the search of the accused was conducted in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure in the presence of a gazetted officer.
Michael Gill, Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO), Jagadhri, was present during the search, according to the bureau.
During the search, a transparent polythene packet containing a suspected narcotic substance was allegedly recovered from the pocket of the accused’s lower garment.
The recovered substance was weighed and found to be 8 grams of heroin, according to the HSNCB.
The recovery has been taken into consideration as part of the investigation into the alleged drug supply activity. Officials said further investigation would focus on determining the source of the heroin and identifying individuals who may be connected with the alleged supply network.
Case Registered Under NDPS Act
Following the recovery, a case was registered against Harish Kumar at Sadar Yamunanagar Police Station under Sections 21(B), 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
The FIR has been registered as FIR No. 326, according to the information released by the authorities.
Police and HSNCB officials have initiated further investigation into the case. The authorities are expected to question the accused regarding the source from which the heroin was allegedly obtained, the intended recipients and any other persons who may be connected with the alleged trafficking network.
Officials said the investigation will also seek to establish whether the accused was operating independently or was part of a wider network involved in the distribution of narcotic substances.

The HSNCB has been carrying out targeted operations against narcotics-related activities in different districts of Haryana. Such operations involve surveillance, intelligence gathering, searches and action based on information regarding suspected drug trafficking.
The latest arrest in Yamunanagar is part of this continuing enforcement effort. Officials said action against those involved in the illegal sale, transportation and distribution of narcotic substances would continue.
The bureau has also appealed to residents to remain alert and cooperate with enforcement agencies. Authorities said information provided by members of the public can assist agencies in identifying locations and individuals involved in illegal drug activities.

The Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau has asked members of the public to immediately report information regarding drug trafficking, illegal sale of narcotics or other prohibited drug-related activities.
The bureau has provided dedicated channels through which citizens can share information. The toll-free helpline number is 1933, while the HSNCB helpline is 90508-91508. Information can also be provided through the NCB MANAS portal.
Authorities have assured citizens that the identity of individuals providing information will be kept confidential.
The bureau has encouraged residents to come forward if they notice suspicious drug-related activity in their locality. Officials said community participation is an important component of efforts to prevent drug abuse and disrupt supply networks.
